So I quit d2 before LoD. Want to get back into it since i got an LoD disc.

In orignal d2 I played a frost sorc and a summner necro. I did alot of dueling and player killing w/ my sorc and some w/ necro. I'm currently working on a build thats heavy into thunderstorm and static. tele around, and the use of mana sheild. the thing I'm noticing so far is this build consumes alot of mana. Seems like a genarally un-effective build. I remeber this build being good back in orig d2 days. but how is it nowadays?

Sure you don't mean Nova? I'm not entirely sure how Static works in PvP. ._.;

As for ES and that...they still work...but you pretty much have to delve 95% into energy for it to work right.

I ment static, And testing it out last night at lvl 36 dueling a lvl 32 smite paladin and a lvl 34 fire sorc static is not very usefull in pvp. Nova seemed to be better. Like I've read throughout these pvp forums smiters a pretty strong. The paladin was able to kill me everytime without dropping below 80%. Keeping in mind I'm just starting out so my gears vender/drops from a1-a5 normal. I want to try somthing diffrent.

And 'back in the day' it was probally Nova used over static and I'm just rembering wrong.

Pallies are the most abundant class in the PvP scene (maybe PvM too). Hammers get 12k unresistable damage and smite is unblockable. Keep in mind a LOT of smiters utilize Life Tap to keep their life up, too. It's a pretty BS place, pubs.

Few things.
1. I got tired of a Paladins strong hand in pvp in World of Warcraft. Blizzard has an extreme love for those little guys..
2. I see 'pubs' alot, Define?
3. I read your (Omicides) class build guids and I'm kinda leaning for a Barbarian. I noticed you put 20pts into axes, I like swords. I saw some of the rune word weapons are axes or swords. the reason you choose axes is because slower atk speed, higher top end dmg?

Pubs basically defines the types of duelers you find that only hang out in public dueling games.

I chose axes because of the sheer adaptation aspect of them. I can use Grief/Beast/Doom/Death/Silence etc. All sorts of axes with different functions that help me achieve what I need. And also...a berserker axe is faster than a CB. O_o PB's just aren't applicable for swords unless you only plan on using Grief.

Yeah alllright. Well I'm pretty much newbin' my way throught NM atm with a lvl 40 barb. I think I'll stick to PvM till I get a better understanding of were everything sits endgame. Thanks.
