I want Proof that 3DS is worthy to be a moderator...

You don't need proof. He is well-documenting everything he does. His post deletions and thread closures are in response to reported posts by users. He is doing his job appropriately.

Class act.
Buh-bye.A class act would be you stepping up and showing him why you feel you have the experience/education to be a moderator instead of just dusting it off your shoulders. What exactly are you the mod of by the way? I thought i remembered reading that you were only the LLD mod or something, or is it the entire site now?

Owned.
Thats what I was gonna say, I dont remember this dude from the old forums or anything. He joined like 3 days before the reset and agreed with the Sophy so he gets the mod job because of it?
Please 3DS show us your "Class act" persona you supposidly are , people usually like to know who is leading them.

I invited him to join, with him moderating as my intention. I have experience with him on a number of other boards, and he has been a part of the Diablo II community from the beginning. He has a long history in the active Diablo II community, and is using an alias here for the same reasons I am - to provide a fair and unbiased authority that can objectively provide moderation of the boards. Nobody can feel singled out, nobody can feel like they are being dealt with out of prejudice. The only people we moderate more heavily are the people who have numerous reported posts every day. You know who you are.

The problem lies in this: everyone has all these expectations about who they like, who "deserves" their respect, and who "matters" on the boards. Nobody is willing to take an open approach and respect everyone and just be nice. I put a lot of effort into this, and I find it frustrating how others do not a) reciprocate b) take it upon themselves to do it as well.
There is no reason that everyone cannot get along. Everyone, everywhere. Think you have to? Think it's how you are? Think that's just "how things always are" or something? Step back and take a look at it. Convention != Necessity.
That's a bit of a tangent but still, there is no need for the bickering, flaming and trolling going on. I'm sure you all know you could have been nicer in your questioning etc. I get extremely angry at times because of what I see on here, but my manner rarely changes much. There are always two ways to conduct yourself - in a positive, constructive way, or in a negative, destructive way. Recognizing that option and exercising your right to choose makes a huge difference in how you see people and how people see you. Perhaps that's just what people seems to be missing - and I don't mean on the boards, I mean everyone everywhere.
Then again, maybe I'm just an idealist.
In any case, we'll continue moderating, and I'm sure if we all just agree to step back and reassess, we can all get along quite happily.

"Class act" was a sarcastic remark made towards Anubis, to parody his 'rage 'n flee'.
Yes...I started off as just the LLD moderator until Sophist promoted me to Global Moderator.
As to my experience/eligibility as a moderator...many members here feel that I'm not qualified to be a moderator simply because I haven't been a member on this specific forum for a long period of time. I did lurk for a long period of time, so I know who's who and how the social structure of these specific forums function.
Ok...now I know most of you still feel that moderators should work their way up in a forums community...not just instantly join and be given moderator status. However, sometimes Admins (like Sophist) like to bring in people who have experience in forum moderation...and like Sophist said, I have been around D2 forums literally since the beginning under another alias.
To give you guys a real-life example of how this process works I'll use a situation from my own life. I'm currently a full time university student, and on the side I work at a retail store. Recently the store changed owners, and the new owner brought in a new general manager and a few other managers, while the old managers were displaced and found new jobs at other stores. Now, first it seemed absurd that the new owner would bring in new managers who have no experience with our store in particular...but in order for the store to be run in a consistent manner, the managers had to be on the same page as the owner...and therefore, while the new managers were new to the store, they had lots of past experience as managers and were also on the same page as the new owner from day one.
So in this sense yes I am fairly new to these forums, but I have lot's of moderation experience and I am friends with Sophist (from other boards) so I'm on the same page as he is. Therefore I know not only how he wants things run, but how things should run.
If you have any more personal questions for me, please PM me.

Meh, I think everyone is making too big of a deal out of this. Soph and 3DS are pretty new, but they seem to be doing a pretty good job with these forums. I'm not complaining.

Suprise, yet another thread with no meaning or reason it needed to be made. When everyone here joined unless you joined and already knew all the mods, I am sure there were mods you didn't know. So tell me, did those mods you didn't know have to prove their worthiness? No they didn't. They were moderators for a reason. They did their job.
Can we all please just try to remember this is a forum to discuss Diablo and related issues. Until 3DS does something out of line for a moderator I don't feel anyone has the right to call him out, unless you want to do it on the field of battle of course.

Belhemel, well stated and quite frankly I'm getting sick of this endless saga as well. I come here to converse and learn about the game I love. I don't care who the mods are, who the owner is or what sponsors or whatnot he uses. Sophist/3DS you have my full support...now start banning these whiners and lets put this to bed!
EDIT: Sorry for being terse but the same subject keeps popping up in thread after thread. Can't we just get to a point where everyone learns their place and start to do what this website was intended for. I don't know why, but I like it here and want to continue interacting but it is getting to the point where it's really bumming me out.

Yes, ban all the people that have complained on the forums, because obviously that is against the rules. Talking and discussing issues related to d2 and this forum is why we are all here, you can state that you dont like or like what has happened, but both sides will be heard. If you are unhappy with the threads you do not have to post in them.

Holy verbal.
But this is ongoing for quite a bit now. Almost too much. I'm unaware why Kiba and Anubis are upset at what specifically but probably within some reason.
But enough might be enough.

This is how the forums are. This isn't going to change. Nobody is making these people stay here. If there is constructive criticism, fine, let's hear it. Trash talk will just end up in a ban. The issue is long since over-done. Enough is enough. Legitimate complaints may be registered in existing threads or via PM.
