What exactly does an Eth Bug do, and is there a legitimate recipie for creating an eth bugged item?

This so called bug only works with eth normal armor type items like body armor, helm, shields... items like gloves, boots, and belts are not used in this case... the recipe is simple. Use the armor socket recipe, Tal Thul pDiamond for random sockets. The bug your are referring to works on etheral items as i mentioned... When you use this recipe on an eth item, it increases the base def to 50% more. So say i found an eth Archon plate with 800 def. I use Tal Thul pDiamond in cube with the eth AP... say i get 3 sockets (cause its random) but now my overall def on the eth AP is now 1200def... thats the bug. THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH SUPERIOR ARMOR TYPES!!! NOR DOES THIS WORK WITH WEAPONS!!!

Isnt it kind of like gambling to try and make one for your merc?
I mean since you dont know for sure how many sockets will be in your armor?
