Ahh my brotherhood or family diablo 2'ers..I have been waiting since the sands of time started flowing not long after Diablo 2 LOD was released for the foretold coming of the next installment...then no...gosh this cant be true...theres a hiccup in my gaming world...an issue if you will..perhaps a conflaguration even...more like a problem you say...then holy sh*t batman they arent going to make a D3?!...youre wrong... no only kidding... right?

Although I knew someone (software company) had to pickup the pieces and eventually exploit the money making potential like 6 or so years ago... I never thought it would take soooooo long...goodness even if you will, for the release...the only things Ive got to say is its got to be better than Titan Quest (which is no easy task) or I'll be pretty sad...have viewed the D3 demo for a little bit with bad guys poping up out of the ground - Skellies etc...course being a necro I instantly took a liking to this part even if they werent on my side..yet...

To all those who are chomping at the bit so to speak, and cant wait for the release...their can be a cruel mispleasure in suffering..or..perhaps more of an appreciation if you will; - it will make the slaughter all that much more fun when it is released...

P.S even though I really really liked this game and we spent a lot of time together, I will not be one of those hardy dedicated souls standing out there in the snow at midnight in a cue that goes around the corner...when I can just as easily preorder my copy and pick it up after work...no insult intended to those that do this.

If you are one of those scoundrels that gets a pirated version, your just doing us no favours as the next installment will take even longer as the developers make harder encryption and take longer to get their funds to generate a better expansion for D3 or gosh a D4..... hang on isnt "The D4" a band...

Man that thing with 09/09/09 is pretty crazy and as much as I wanna believe it, it's still pretty unbelievable.

That doesn't make too much sense since the predicted period for SC2 is 4Q of this year. It wouldn't make sense to put both the games on the shelves at the same time.

If Diablo 3 was going to be released this year, I doubt a 1.13 patch for Diablo 2 would be in the working as it is, however Blizzard doesn't always make sense. I'd look for Diablo 3 mid to late 2010.

Having a 1.13 patch being worked on pretty much insures that this won't be out till late year at the earliest. I suppose it could be a way to promote D3, but doubtful unless the new patch it a huge update for the purpose of trying to get new people to play it, love it and buy D3 who wouldn't have otherwise.

Actually the skill system has changed to a degree. You can use runes to enhance/change the entire nature of your normal skills.

I read somewhere it's been pushed back to 2010. According to a Blizz statement it was because battle.net 2.0 did not meet their expectations. Still they said that the release of D3 would be unaffected. So yes SC2 will be released first, since it relies on bnet 2.0 as well, and it seems SC2 will be the first to test it.

SC2 will not be released this year (as stated earlier). this (http://www.gamingnewslink.com/2009/08/06/starcraft-2-release-date-delayed-to-first-half-of-2010/) article pretty much describes what I posted earlier. It's been pushed back because it took longer than expected to prepare Battle.Net 2.0 for the launch of SC2.

So from what I've read, next year we will see SC2 and a WoW expansion, then we may see D3 somewhere in 2011. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't released before 2012 either though, but the more time they spend developing the game, the better polished it will be. Personally I can wait a few more years for an awesome game, instead of a half finnished product. And I'm fairly sure Blizzard realizes this as well.

That's the big problem if you let a game go too long, writing for a new OS. I can't see the game coming out in 2012, they would want to change the gaming engine also. They have to come out next year with those screenshots. I say 2010 or the game falls flat on its face without a new start.

I guess you're right, I can see it taking longer.

If you think about it, Everquest was out when they were still working on D2. That's comparing sprites to an on world game with true 3D and a massive enviroment.

It just seems that another 2 years is a vey long time with the gaming engine they are showing in screenshots. You're not trying to finish with sprites anymore or using a game engine you already had.

2 more years is a long time, but by then I guess you could play it on a phone. :D

:D i made a stop at my local GameStop this Thursday and the guy there told me D3 was coming out which we all already know however i asked if he knew the exact release date yet, he then proceeded to check on the computer on their database and told me that the release date for Diablo 3 is December 31, 2010 xD! and since most stores are gonna be closed that date the release is technically January 2011 xD! i cant wait!!!! best news I've heard this year! so excited :D
