Don't get me wrong, I don't play classic... I just felt like posting in this lonely little forum.
D2 does make sense with skill, imo... I dunno what the hell D2 you're playin', if you think otherwise.

It's good that you did, because as you can see, big forces are a-movin over here in the classic trading forum.

Non expansion, in classic, runes, the ability to make runeword items, druid/assassin class, act5, uber tristram, and w/e dont exist.

No elite items, no unique exceptionals, no class-only items, no oskills, limited horadric cube recipes ( due to non-existing runes ), no jewels, no charms.
Mercenaries do not follow through acts, and can not wear equipment. Summones do not follow through acts ( golems, skeletons ). Best items are rares with good combination of spawned prefixes/affixes.
Fun factor - depends on what you expect from Dia2 as a game.
Best thing about it; LoD noobs crying for rush.
p.s. yes, the pin has been heard ;P

I reckon expansion would be better, unless you want to be all alone in classic. XD

There is a large enough player base on classic for it to be playable.
It also keeps scammers/dupers OUT of classic, because everyone knows everyone.
Even more so on classic hardcore.

*sigh* Again, if you approach classic with that point of view, don't even try it. On the other hand, if you like the idea of something like BIG BAD BARB IN RED ARMOR WIELDING BIG RED LANCE which works like charm in hell, then give it a try. You may be surprised.

Lost my key for LOD and was almost sad when I started D2 again. I must say, it is by far a rewarding experience. Grant it, I dont get to look for Keys and all that jazz, but as far as a new challenge goes...it's almost like playing Diablo2 all over again. Wife might buy me LOD for xmas, but I think I might jump on Classic every now and again.
Also, It's like Cheers...same stupid faces ;)

i have played classic far longer than i have been playing the x-pac. i think PvP on it is better because you know what your getting when you challege someone. example- a barbarian isnt going to hostile you then start teleporting around and casting blessed hammer/frozen orb. but opinions are like bums, everyone has one and, they all stink. :)
