Somthing I Would like in D3

i dont know if this would be possible, but i would like to be able to do a self-xfer in d3. there were only a few people in d2 that i trust to help me xfer my nice items and if they werent on, sometimes i would just have to wait. that would really suck when i got excited about makin a new char but the gear for the new char was on 4 different chars. anyways i dont know how blizzard could pull that off, but i would really like it.

There's been talk about some sort of system where you can switch gear from other characters, but I haven't heard any confirmations of how they plan on doing it or if they plan to at all.

They could use a mail like system like in WoW, or a shared chest where the items you place in it will be available for all the other chars. Imo for a game like Diablo a shared chest might be easier, and it will prevent all the complaints that will follow if they go for a mail system.

I would love this. It would be nice to transfer items to different characters with no risk of losing them. I have lost more than my share of high runes and items in D2 by dropping them on the ground after 6 minutes, leaving the game, and then coming back to nothing except Warriv.

Um...you shouldn't drop your items first and wait. As the game clears out "idle" items. Even faster if they're dupes. Best to wait the few minutes THEN check to see if the game is permed THEN drop.

Seriously most of the time people just don't know how to do it right. The only problems that really suck is if you get D/Ced while xfering.

I know how to do it. I said I drop them on the ground after 6 minutes. I don't drop them first and then wait. I wait and then drop them, just like you said.

But on the last part I should have said that when trying to return to the game, the game is sometimes not there. And that's how I lose items. And yea, getting disconnected definitely sucks.

I usually close the window while in the xfer game. I usually forget about it for a good 15 minutes to a half hour...so it's definitely perm by then.

But yeah...the only time I've lost items is from things I have no control over or even to prevent.

My guess will be they will have a mail system, it would be a smart idea to adopt that from wow.

Yeah... that's bad that we can not open 2 copies of D3 to transfer items... maybe they can do something about it, although there is almost a year that it will be on the markets, maybe they can make an add-on.

h i remember playing b.net it really sucked that you couldnt xfer items, maybe they could do both a mail system and a shared stash between all your players, or some kind of deposit box

not sure, but i think i read somewhere that no runewords are planned for D3. i'm gonna miss them. :(
