Ok, I figured out how to continue playing diablo 2, and diablo 2 lord of destruction, even after you die you can continue playing as long as you want!

Ok 1st:

1. Make a portal.

2.When you die you will end up back in town, the portal you made will be there also, hop in the portal.

3.As soon as you get to the place you died "the place you made the portal" then make another portal.

4.Pick up your body take the portal back to town heal yourself stock up on potions, and go back through the portal "if you want".

NOTE: if you go back through the portal make another and you can repeat this as much times as you want.

I just got to hell mode, I have a level 67 necromancer in less then a month.

Baal was so hard that I dies like 30 times, however since I found this cheat out I was able to keep fighting him until I beat him, thus takeing me to hell mode!

Also I figured a way you can gamble and if you don't find an item you want you can get all your money back!

Here's how:

1.Save game, make sure your inventory has enough space to gamble, because d2 has auto save, gambling to long or gambling exiting the screen and going back takes time thus the auto save will kick in, witch is bad.

2.Gamble, and if you don't find an item you want press: crt, alt, delete. Close out diablo 2. restart and you will have all the gold and etc you had the last time you saved. Thus you can go back and do it over and over until you find a rare or if playing normal d2 a set item!

This also works for imbueing an item, imbue and if you don't like that item use the crt, alt, delete method stated above.

Have fun!

Okay from what I gather you keep dying but you just use the portal that you made? If you die the portal closes.

Also ctrl+alt+del doesn't close Diablo, it brings the task manager up.

Unless you are playing Hardcore, you can die all you want. You can even leave your corpses behind and play naked. The only penalty for dying in softcore games is the loss of the Anya quest resist, gold and some XP. If you do not exit and re-enter, your resists are, -10, -20 and -30, respectivley for each mode achived, from what the character screen states.

Popping a TP when doing battle with Bosses is common practice for most players. If you die, you can attempt to retrieve your corpse to save on the XP penalty, as well as return to town for healing and pots.

I don't know how this is viewed as a cheat, but the "month to get to 67" speaks volumes.

Some people in this thread are way out of line. He's just played single player, and here you are trying to act elitist and stare down at his accomplishments.

Being a jerk to a new member without as much experience you is not acceptable. Start behaving appropriately, now.

@OP
hmm.. from your observation,

1. that is not a cheat actually. it's a trick/method. it's more of a safety tactic in case you die.

2. now, this is a cheat. imo, this constitutes duping. you're duping your gold, you're duping your imbue quest.

Well, I've tried D2 offline and I would consider it a nice accomplishment to reach lvl 67 by yourself no one to help you with your quests. I've never had the patience for it haha so nice

nice going. the farthest i ever got in single player was act2 nightmare. i played for more than a month, but i guess the 4 different chars i tried (or 5) made me play longer than a month. on battle.net everything is easier if you got some friends though. if i really want to i can get from normal-hell and lvl 1-80+ in a day. but thats with powerlvling and sometimes is ALOT more boring than just playing regulerly.

and you will get used to kiba after a while, i did ;)

Tip:

Type "/player8" into the game to give you the experience of an 8-person game.
Beware... it'll also significantly raise the difficulty.

You can change the number from 2-8, and the game will react accordingly.

Sophist
01-11-2008, 06:11 AM
It depends on the version you are playing - Older versions may not have it at all, while later versions require simply "Players 8"
Currently you would need to type "/players 8" (note the space between players and 8). As noted, you can simulate anywhere from 2 to 8 player games. This only impacts monsters that have not been spawned as of the entry of the phrase.

The TP-tactic is well known to most, but good pointing it out for the newbies sake..

And regarding the ctrl-alt-del thing, i`m not sure what to think. It`s not a cheat, but you are also using another program to affect the game .. which can be considered cheating. Idk i won`t do it, but i won`t care if anyone do.

It would be faster to me to gather 300k gold by selling goods i find than re-entering the game 5million times ^_^ (just over-exaggerating)

the ctr+alt+del isnt exactly a program though. just brings up the task manager so you can end different processes ;)

Using iron maiden, with golem's helps, also using amp damage with hire's helps too.

Oh BTW, I said less then a month you don't know exactly how long I played;)

I use poison nova alot I have level 25 poison nova, so going to nightmare mode using poison nova to kill waves of monsters gives me allot of EXP, thing is I've advanced so far It takes hours to get EXP.

Plus I have a life, it's not like I played it 24-7 everyday...

:p

It's cool too, I admin at sites and find spammerz like Kiba all the time...

When I type players 8 do I space it?

I don't know if the whole time I used it if it was working...

Hers another thing I found out:

If you play Diablo 2 and beat it, then Invert you character to d2-LOD you can bypass Facing Baal, however later you will need that act for EXP so this is just something to do for the fun of it...

if you are a poisonmancer (using poison nova) you should use lower res curse to help improve dmg and break possible psn immunes ;)

However, the thing that got me so far was the iron maiden, and fire golems thats a deadly combination...

Thanks for your help though.

Although I've been playing D-2 since it first came out I never really liked the idea of playing with others.

However my cousin plays online and say my necromancer can beat the level 99's he sees all the time.

I use poison, in my sword along with rings and necromancer items to do massive poison damage... Works good for me :)

u know, me and a friend are walking 2 bowas on closed, and by day 3 (roughly 2 1/2 hours total play time with them, they are lvl 21. unfortunatley hes more of a liability than a assest when it come to useing a bowa. actully makes it harder than playign alone. of course the actual game isnt hard, i just dont like being alone and thats the only reason i dont play sp. but yes if you folowed some of the guides that are (or atleast used to be) on here you should be doing fine. generaly ppl avoid im because in hell the monsters dont get enough dmg returened to them in relation to their health.

i doubt that you could beat all the 99s (i rarely see any), but i dont doubt you could do well in pvp ;)

but up against characters built for pvp i dont think you got much chance (unless you have used hero editor to get some nice items).

Yes, you have to put in the space as well. Just remember it takes about 30 seconds for the setting to affect the game.

actually not 30 seconds. any monster that spawns after the command is entered will be affected.

Forget about Iron Maiden in hell mode. The monsters in hell have far too much life compared to their dmg that this curse would still be useful.

Forget about Iron Maiden in hell mode. The monsters in hell have far too much life compared to their dmg that this curse would still be useful.I'm fine, I use tactics to defeat the hell mode monsters, the items I have are good, most I made myself, when I find a rare item I save it and have it socketed, however since the number of sockets you get in act 5 is random I use crt, all, delete until I get the most sockets for the item. My sword does fire, lightning, and poison damage, 4 socketed and very fast attack speed. I also have fastest run walk, fastest hit recovery. When I mix it with rings that do poison damage, it ups my attack allot.

My necromancer is built like a barbarian, allot of life, defense, attack power.

Also my inventory is filled with charms. When ever I find a item that is not as good as the one I have I ether sell it, through it out, or make a iron golem out of it. If I need space for items I drop some charms on the ground check the item out, and put my charms back in my inventory.

So, whats this character editor about?

Hero editor is a game tool that can only be used in single player. You can call up and equip several of the good items and then edit the mods on the items if you wish. You can also change game stats, add attributes, check quests as complete, etc, etc.
Do a google search on Hero editor and then on Item pack 1.11 (or whatever version you are using).

Both are dowloadable and are freeware IIRC. I believe Hero Editor is a windows install while the item pack is a zip file that you just unzip to a specified location. Maybe set up a directory like programfiles/Hero editor/item pack.

Skull, if he can do hero editor online, there are many worse things than him having godly everything. Doing so would require:

1. Hack into Blizzard mainframe
2. Find Diablo 2 records
3. Find his records.
4. Edit records using hero editor
5. Encrypt it all so no one knows what happened
6. Program in the "play time" he supposedly did to get to 99
7. Hope Blizzard doesn't ban him

Someone can use a hack and bypass so-and-so to get super speed, invincibility, etc., but it is impossible to change the actual exp/stats/items to unless your PC is the server. On SP, because your computer is the host, you have access to your records.

Ah, yes.

But even there, your computer has to be the host of that game for you to be able to use Hero Editor. If you don't want hackers and Hero Editors, just play on Closed. For me, Open is just the place to go to have fun dueling with other people without any risk.

I play without others for many reasons:)

I like playing by myself anyway, and using cheats makes it harder for me to call myself a D2 master when I cheated to beat it.

When I beat hardcore mode with the Necromancer and Druid I used no cheats... However I cheat on allot of games so I don't care:p
