My Zeal-Enchantress!

I'm still building my Zeal-Enchantress!

But now I'm wondering: How does Zeal work!? I mean - with IAS! Can I make her hit faster by giving her more IAS? She doesn't have much IAS, but lvl 8 Zeal! Any breakpoints to reach? I were trying to get a result with the IAS caculator, but I couldn't make a result for a sorc with Zeal! I'm using Passion Phase Blade!

it comes from passion runeword. the runeword grants +1 zeal & +1 berserk. out of completeness, it's dol, ort, eld, lem on any 4socket weapons.

i believe the OP's just asking for bps for a simple enchantress using zeal. no bells and whistles (ie dream) like in your guide =)

Hey Landau! I haven't seen you online for looong time, and I've forgot all about this thread, cuz' I haven't been playing sorc the last days!
My sorc is almost complete. (The way I want her)! She just need some lvling. And no, the sorc I'm building is pretty cheap and pretty powerfull too! My plan is to get as many + All Skills to get a higher lvl Zeal while I still gets higher lvl Enchant! Here's a list of my equipment:

Shako
CoH (The only really expensive item on her)
Passion Phase Blade (Of course)
Spirit Monarch
Venom Grip
Tearhaunch
Rare rings with res + life steal(Gonna use BK's if I find some, and have enough resist to use it)
Rare ammy with sorc skills and resist(I have a Highlord for her... Again, when I have enough resist. If I find a Mara She gets it!)
String of ears 15% DR

Act2 Might Aura Merc. Equipment:
Gaze
Eth Shaftstop
Obidiance Runeword!

I'm lvl 67 atm, and almost through Act 1 Hell. I can take out Fire Immunes pretty easy, I just need more Fire Resist! There's nothing on Spirit, so on Hell, she only have about 45-50 fire res! A few charms and a torch (when I reach lvl 75) will handle that problem! I also have a 29 fire res jewel, I'll put in my Shako till I have enough resist to put something funny in it! :)
Max dmg is almost 4k!

I'm using Shiver Armor for more def, but I think it would be smarter to use energy Shield, since I've maxed Warmth. But can I use Energy Shield AND Shiver Armor at the same time?

yes, you can use shiver armor and ES at the same time.
you can only use one type of cold armor tho.. =)

Since you said you were going to build this one I've read some guides about this type of sorc, and there are a lot of options where to go with her as far as I understand.
If you max ES, you probably want it to get to 95% absorb. Now, since ES comes before resistance, if you choose this it'll change you gear a lot. And you stats, since you'll be putting points in Energy instead of VIta. However, if you're going PvM only, mana burns will eat you alive.
Another thing I've being wondering- why spirit? I mean, I know it gives +2 skills and res, but aren't you having problems without max blocking?
And finally, I thought that you can use a merc with Beat as a weapon to get Fanat to reach the IAS. Will the aura effect you too? And you can try switching the String to Dungos, or Arach for the +1 skills. And is CB helpful on that type of sorc? cause if so you can wear Gores.

Also, do you reach the IAS and FHR bps?

Yeah, I had some of the same thoughts... And when this is my first Enchantress, this will only be a test to see if she's any good! I haven't looked at the break points yet! And I chose Spirit because it's dirt cheap, and because of the 2 skills! And I use Phase Blade Passion I have about 150 points in dex, so I have pretty good blocking!

The Energy Shield was only a thought when my mana regenerate so fast, and Zeal only cost 2 mana, it would be a nice add!

And Merc! I have thought about getting a merc with Fana Aura. It would help A LOT, but again, I'm trying to make this build as cheap as possible, that's why I chose Obediance! I were also thinking about a Infinity to get conviction, that would help much too, but again - VERY expensive! I know there might be much to change, but I'll take it as it comes. So far, she's doing pretty good on Hell, so I'm satisfied with the build... So far! :)

not if you want to go solo with a melee sorc.

anyway, sorc's double firemastery application would greatly enhance the enchant damage =)

hmm... let's say you have 2000 fire damage from enchant (let's say this includes synergy and fire mastery bonuses), and you have +200% fire dmg from your current fire mastery. when you melee, that +200% fire dmg will be applied again, so your total fire mastery damage is 6000. iirc, this will be reflected in the lcs..

this applies to lightning mastery as well. this is why dream/kingslayer sorcs are around.. =)

And I tested it, you need like 300 dex for mb with monarch Spirit.
Also you need 86 fhr for common bp.

for a pretty old game, i doubt you can find a build that's truly original. you can only make it a little different by deviating it a little here and there.. still not much though =)

Funny to think I did exactly all the math in this guide and gathered all of the info like he did.

yes. that's why there are some enchantless enchant sorcs out there.. they max just the synergies and use demon limb for enchant. it's for the scrooge =P

anyway, I came to the conculsion the StormShield is probably the best way. Easy mb, huge DR and some res along with socket ability (probably Um/Ber)

1. Which one would be more dominant?

2. Would ES be favorable in either choice?

3. And I'm assuming if I didn't choose ES, that I'd need to dump more pts into vit...correct?

well, imo..

1. zeal will allow faster attacks across more targets but it's mostly single element (fire). vengeance will be a single-target attack but it's more damaging, plus it's tri-elemental

2. yes, but most likely you'll spend 20 points in TK and allow ES with +skills (the former is always more important than the latter).

for a zeal sorc, you'll have spare points to invest in TK. but for vengeance, skill points will be a bit tighter. unless you use demon limb, you'll have harder time distributing skill points between light mastery, enchant + synergies and TK.

3. yes. unless you choose to max block.

iirc, you can find low level charges of vengeance on rares/magical items.

if you're looking for 0skill vengeance, only the kingslayer runeword, with +1 vengeance =)

1. Zeal is a great PvP option that can possibly run Uber Tristram. Vengence is less known and better for PvM since you won't have problem with immunes.
2. ES is the way to go for PvP. For PvM, imo, ES is bad since mana burns will eat you alive.
3. As said, yes, unless you go for max block which is imo highly recommanded both in PvM and PvP.

And Saracen, as Vengence is more PvM, you don't really need ES. And even if you do, for a Vengence sorc going for Enchant isn't as important as for a Zealer, so you can go on without Demon Limb+Warmth

And Zealer can be "tight" about skill point as well. If you don't go for Demon limb it's maxing Fire Mastry+Enchant+Warmth+Lightning Mastery possibly if you're going for dual Dream.

enchant is a staple for ALL melee sorc builds =)

Yeah, but you can get it from charges. and AR you can get from gear, Angelic combo especially.

And I was reading some guide and I found the funniest craziest and coolest Zealer sorcs-
IK sorc, Range Sorc and Frozen Orb Sorc.

Ok... Im tracking a little better now... Sorry for the confusion earlier too.. My choices were a Zeal Sorc or Veng Sorc...

I mostly play PvM so can someone direct me towards the build for that and be more detailed on the ES vs non-ES... and stat point distribution.

My sorc is at 57lvl and I put one point into warmth, FireBold, FireBall, Warmth, Enchant and Fire Mastery...


I don't mind screwing up because I can rebuild but if I have some guidance I might get lucky...

I'll look up and link some zealorc guides, but I don't know if I can find anything about ES vs non ES. Main change is that ES is just awesome for PvP since you won't need resist and boosting mana is easier than boosting life. Non ES is good for PvM since mana burns usually east ES sorcs alive and that way you won't need to put point in telek and ES.

Either way I'll suggest using Demon Limb so you can have more point, especially if you're planning to wear dual dream
