Has anyone else noticed that Cain is a *potentially* shady character? One of the main keys is Diablo 1. When you first talk to Ogden, he welcomes you back, which means the town knew you. One of the gossips with Cain says something along the lines of "the dark wanderer was a mysterious figure and no one knew him". Can someone catch me if I'm wrong? And does anyone else think that some characters are potentially shady? I read a post on some other forum about Tyreal being on Diablo's side, and it gave interesting reasons. Unfortunately, I forgot where this was.

lol the one thing i would like to know is, in the previews for d3 you see that deckard cain is back again. ok now in d2 we all know he is old...
SO HOW THE HECK CAN HE BE ALIVE 20 YEARS LATER!!! he didnt seem that young to me. if i had to guess hes maybe in his 90's or something in the d3 preview, but its weird hes still alive.

I just wanna know how he was alive in D2 in the first place -_-. Everyone in the town was killed or corrupt (Griswold-Zombie, Warrior-Dark Wanderer, Rogue-Blood Raven, Sorcerer-Summoner). But... hes just left to die in a cage?!
I SMELL A CONSPIRACY!!

Or possibly he was so pure of heart that they could not corrupt him and so they left him to starve and suffer worse than facing corruption...
How could he live so long?
Faith has a funny way of extending your lifeforce if you allow it too.
As for how they know you...
Well maybe they foresaw it in a vision or dream...
Just a thought thou...

But he wasn't killed on the spot like everyone else. If the prime evils truly wanted all the Horadrim out of their way, they easily could have rid themselves of Cain.

BAM, that's another thing right there. The primes as well as lower demons seem to be contempt with ridding the Horadrim, but Cain was just caged? Seems like something weird is going on. Either that, or the writers screwed up, lol.

You can't kill someone with that voice off so easily.
Look at everything Sean Connery has survived.
Highlander
James Bond
Draco (Dragonheart)
Indiana Jones' dad
Etc.

LOL good point. Even though he was killed in Highlander didn't he come back for Highlander 2 or 3? Doesn't matter though, the only good one of the series was the first.

That would be interesting if he does turn out to be evil; the final battle: duking it out with Deckard Cain.

He has always been the one to send you into trouble. IRL if I knew someone like that I'd stay way the hell away from him.

It's feasible, remember that Cain himself tells you a couple of times during D2 that the Horadrim were always fighting with one another, and lots of crazy demon stuff happened to them over the years.
On another subject, this topic made me look up the guy who does Deckard Cain's voice. Did you know he was also Tassadar in Starcraft, and he also played the guy who greets you at the reception desk in Doom 3 when you arrive on the station? True story.

uhhhhh
i thougth the lesser evils captured cain because after you free him he says something like ''andariel and the other lesser evils overthrew diablo and his brothers.'' ''but now seeing something that blah blah blah the lesser evils might have teamed up with the three prime evils to be in their hirearchy.'' or something like that and when you kill diablo. baal inpersonates tyrael and steals his soul stone from the old guy that follows diablo (the corrupted warrior) around. But perhaps cain is immortal because he doesnt seem evil since hes being gaurded by tyrael (he smashed baals soul stone i think).

You sir, are just plain....stupid.
Anywho, I could DEFINETLY see d3 with an evil cain, he's always been a rather shady figure imho also.

But yeah...sucked to lose him. ):
Any why would they have to kill supporting characters when you can have a main character that dies. O:

Aha, i pondered about fenix\phoenix... i actually wrote and deleted fenix.. and yes he was a crafty character!
Hehe, good question.... well because they are handy and thus you get to count on them.. and to kill\take away such characters wakes some kind of emotion in ppl and that's maybe what they're going for...

Hehe i got my contacts - through my new job in the candyfactory (brynhild) ... also people in blizzard have a weakness for dark chocolate xD
Dark chocolate you say? So bribing them with dark chocolate will yield better results than money? Interesting...
*takes notes*
Anything else you know? Husbands/wives, children, where they live? Might help if I must resort to blackmailing :D

Cain is dead dirt, he already gave more than he had to.
That being said, a moment of silence. Ok, I am already over it. These guys/gals are going in a totally new direction. It's how many years later? You can already tell that they are not trying to recreate the same game.
Then again, they are/arn't.
