Nice article. I love the art in Diablo III and didn't think it was too cartoony or bright to begin with. I thought the dungeon in the official gameplay demo was dark enough. Although the outside wasn't dark, it looked good and was a nice contrast..

There was a screenshot that was on the main site briefly showing another view of the same level. It looked pretty good...more of what the opposing side would have liked.

omnicide, you confuse me! why care SO much about the "opposing side"? all you're doing is giving us attention. not just that, but i'm 99.9% sure that you didn't mind diablo's old color schemes as well, because with how it seems, if you had hated it, you wouldn't have played it. i draw this conclusion due to your stand on the pro-color and how much you are fighting for it. if diablo 3 was changed and had similar/same art style as diablo 1 and diablo 2, it wouldn't be that bad.

I'm not for or against it. I just think people whine more than they think they need to.
Either way, the decision is made, and I'm just fine with it.

the whining part is definitely true...speaking of which is the petition closed now? it would be stupid to have more people sign it when unnecessary. i do realize that my signature is also unnecessary, but i'm keeping it anyway because it shows my beliefs. personally, i'm not going to cry like a ***** like most people because blizzard decided to stick with the art, but i won't lie about being disgruntled. either way, i care, but i don't really care.

Indeed. Idk how so many people can hate something after seeing a VERY short preview, which I personally thought looked VERY good.

Don't worry.
Those 52,000 are probably the little kiddies and/or the adult children who whine about every change that does not fit their little and misguided percetion of the universe...
D3 looks amazing and for the change of color, I'm quite sure it will still have that dark and evil feel to it as before in Diablo 1 and 2.
I'm going to like it even if it's not exactly the same as the previous games.
Afterall, it's not like a game can stay the same forever. If it did, like the dude in the article says, it would be boring quite fast.
Boring fast equals death to a great series. No thanks.

yeah because it's angels versus demons...there's no fight with "rainbows" they're just there, and they're just ***.

I didnt once see Tyrael smite down any demons. Its just scenery, natural.. scenery, and if thats ***, then that makes u a homophobe.

"***" has other derogatory meanings besides dissing homosexuals. the storyline is supposed to be heaven vs. hell, although you're right, tyrael is not doing a very good job. maybe it's on purpose and his fate is the same as izual's? who knows, we'll see with diablo 3.

Yeah its SUPPOSED to be about good vs evil but people only concentrate on the evil and anything that isnt evil is wrong, which is ridiculous.

but from what i understand with the story, right now, hell is winning on earth, turning everything...basically evil.

tristram was a dark place BEFORE the evil was unleashed.
on another note, i ALREADY established that i didn't give a damn about the dark or the light, was it that hard to understand? i was explaining something which in turn was wrong.
Thats all well and good but I dont see how evilness can corrupt a rainbow.
i'm stuck in the diablo 2 world, that's why. baal was killed, but it's not over

This post really helps. It's not going to provoke angry replies - heavens no. This is going to cause a great peace among all who disagree.
... Right. Big help.

Uh... I apologize for whining about them whining?

Apparently everyone else can't if people are still complaining about the color changes.

lol, the difference is we have a legitimate reason to complain, while you guys are whining about the scenery having a little color

lol well after reading this article **** what i said. i take back my dam sig. and whats funny as hell was thats the first time ive noticed that rainbow (because they circled it) lol. So yeah...sorry everyone...
That’s nighttime, dumbass – you know, when things are…dark.
That line in particular made me laugh out loud due to the fact that most people use the excuse, "Tristram was dark before evil was spread throughout the lands!" usually followed by that exact picture. :p
Rainbowphobia And You - A Quick Prevention Guide
Since the announcement of the release of Diablo III, there has been an onslaught of eager adventurers logging on to the official forums, posting questions, discussing possible characters and skills, and, more disturbingly, rainbowphobia!
Now you may ask yourself, 'How does one contract rainbowphobia and more importantly, is it contagious?' This is something that scientists are diligently working to find out, as it appears to be a fairly recent affliction spurred by the inclusion of rainbows in the upcoming release.
While it is a fairly ripe addition to the medical dictionary, there are, however, enough facts known, which is the basis of this guide. So, without further ado, lets get started.
If you should feel an attack coming on, it is good to drink vast amounts of water. While it is advised in later stages of the affliction to get the water from a mountain stream just after a heavy rainfall, so as to multiply the chances of actually seeing a rainbow, thus facing your fear, it is strongly ill-advised to those with a full-blown case who haven't had any prior counseling.
Never look directly at a rainbow, as it is believed that if you suffer this affliction, you could lose your eyesight. Again, after years of unsuccessful counseling, this is actually advised. But never try it unless all else fails.
Stay away from metallic surfaces, as they have much potential to refract light, resulting in a prism. While a prism is technically just a rainbow, this could send you into a seizure, some of which have never recovered.
If you have small children around your house, it is advised that you find other living arrangements, as young children have a tendency to draw brightly colored rainbows. While usually these rainbows are not realistic in their composition, they are, however, close enough to cause severe spasms and vomiting.
Now, for those that do not have this affliction, it appears that it is NOT contagious, as I have been exposed to countless numbers with the affliction on this forum and have yet to feel a sudden dread at the mention of a rainbow. Note that I said 'APPEARS', as not enough is known about it (due to its apparent infancy) to be entirely sure.
As a final note to those that DO suffer this affliction, my words are 'God Bless. You are in our prayers'
Sincerely,
Dr. Light Ann Prism
