Question On WW Barbarian

I decided to dual weild with my barb which, by the way, still isn't at level 30 so I don't know all of the answers about the move. When I do get whirlwind, do both weapons hit?
And also, shoud I use dual weapons or is it a better option to use a two handed maul?

You actually hit 1.5 times dual wielding so you get an extra 50% damage. The 2 handed maul would probably deal out more damage than 2 1 handed swords depending on the attack speeds and Overall Ias% respectively. Must factor in all hits think max is 6 in a whirlwind. I found alot of this info on google .... remember google is your friend.

As far as choosing a two handed weapon vs two one handers, it all depends on what you have. Basically whatever gives the most damage...go for that.

You hit twice. Max IAS with one weapon is 6.25 attacks per second while max ias on two weapons has 12.5 attacks per second.

I think the order is:

First hit check=your main weapon
Second hit check=both weapons
Third hit check=both
So on. (Consider me wrong on this until I can find where I read up on how the checks work.)

Actually i came up with another question but didn't wanna make a new thread...
Barbarians that use maces or axes have very low attack ratings. How do you deal with that? Charms or enchanted armor for high attack rating? Cuz it pisses me off to miss every other hit with a barb.

And does atk rating affect whirlwind

yes attack rating effects whirlwind. If you need more AR use the angelic ammy and 1 or 2 rings that will boost your AR Big Time. Check the thread in General Discussion about Attack rating.

AR chance doesn't really change whether it's axes, spears, swords, maces, polearms or throwing weapons. O_o; If you maxed an attack skill plus that weapon mastery...it'll have the same AR as another weapon with its weapon mastery maxed. Only exception is if the weapon you have has actual AR on it, but it can appear on almost any weapon.

If you check your character screen and see that your attack has an attack rating number beside it....it needs AR to strike.

no, for attack rating I just meant that Id assume youd have a higher attack rating using, say swords, since most of the good ones require dexterity

Dex doesn't add that much to AR. O_o;; You'd have to invest somewhat heavily to have a real advantage.

crap, so i guess i should stop collecting dexterity charms to my inventory...
on the bright side i know what I do need. atk rating charms. plus I have boots with plus 100 atk rating

Straight attack rating (Angelics, Hsarus, Ravens) is usually better than boosting up on dex. Dex charms may be good if you're untwinked...but you should definitely prepare to move onto bigger and better things.

dex charms are probably the worst way to increase ar. 1dex equates to ~5ar.. use steel/sharp gcs since they can boost ~25-40+ ar per inventory square..

dex charms are limited to 2 for sc, 6 to gc. certainly not worth it even if untwinked. better to stock up on resists/mf instead =P

ye if u are looking for MASSES of ar look for angelics oh and btw im on my second ww barb and everyone has been bad idk if im doing something wrong but they dont work that well

PvM it's either WW or Frenzy with Berserk for special occasions.

PvP it ranges. Barbs use Leap, Conc, WW, Frenzy, Double Throw, Berserk, War Cry and sometimes Leap Attack. Although it's been a good few years since I've seen a Leap Attack barb.

I saw one with a point in Leap attack not to long ago. LOL

He was a Whirlwind barb, but had a point in Leap attack for special occasions. O_o Never really saw him use it succesfully though.

leap attack is one of those moves you can only get away with using when faced with a truly nub opponent.

it's kind of like a fire-sorc beating you to death with an enchanted CtA.

Considering it's a pre-req for WW, it's not like that's a massive stretch for your build.

Way back on East when I'd fight hdins that stood still I'd use leap attack on them. o;
