So was just a bit bored at work and was wondering how many people here play Dota. I played Dota a lot before but now splits time with D2.

And if you do play Dota, what modes do you play?

I personally play -ar, -rd, -dmar in either normal or em (hard to get a normal get in pubbies) and I don't play in any of the dota channels so I don't get to join the better games (I have no rec to join them hahaha and I'm too lazy to get on my friend's account to sponsor myself). I don't -ap with pubs because those games suck too much but ap with good players is fun.

I played a lot of DoTA for some time. But the main problem there is to get a good game running without people leaving all the time. Imo that's the biggest problem with dota that it's hard to get a good game running with people that don't leave when they don't get a char they want or when their team is losing. I mainly stopped because I was bored of getting about one good game in ten attempts.

About the mods... I played -ar and -arem.

Hahaha its a custom map on Warcraft 3: TFT. It's a "team" game though many people play it like its not (i.e. the crappy players).

A lot of the ideas originated from Diablo 2 actually. Item names such as buriza and tomb reaver found their way into the game (those two are top tier items). If you have Warcraft 3: TFT, you might want to look into.

I tried going to their official site but apparently a new version of the map just came out today and I can't get into it from all the traffic. But it's a good game. Just don't become someone who leaves the game cause your dying or didn't get the hero you wanted cause that is just bad manners and ruins a game. Hope that helps.

they even get items like real good items like heart, mkb, skadi etc

Lvl 3 Rupture - Deals a mighty blow to the enemy causing any movement to result in bleeding and loss of life. 350 damage, 60% of distance moved in damage. Lasts 9 seconds.

so pretty much everytime u run when u got low health u lose health. ALOT.

Lvl 4 Strygwyr's Thirst - Enables Strygwyr to sense the bleeding of any enemy hero below 40% hp. If it finds one, Strygwyr gains vision of that unit and increases move speed. Level 4 - 44% movement increase, huge area.

Rupture, run at u and kill u. even if u try to run u will die.

Lvl 4 BloodRage - Drives a unit into a bloodthristy rage. That unit is unable to cast spells, has its attack damage increased, and loses a small amount of hit points every second. Level 4 - 80% damage increase, loses 8 HP per second. 15 seconds.

Nah obsidian doesn't need to run lol. If you cast rupture I would just stand there and between the guinsoo and his skill that makes you disappear for 4 seconds. Rupture will pretty much run out.

And the damage done by obsidian's skill that does damage based on current mana does ridiculous damage and 2 ulti's will wipe out half of BS's life.

It wouldn't even be a close match. Honestly, there aren't many characters that can take out a decked out obsidian. Only chance maybe someone who can bash like crazy to put him in stunlock otherwise obsidian will always win just because of the damage.

Silencer is good but he can be taken out too easily because of his lack of disables and relatively low health (silence is a disable but it doesn't stop somebody from wailing on you). Silencer just owns int and some agi depending on how much damage he can do (it actually gets pretty high up there).

Well, Luna's not that bad to deal with because ulti can only hit 1 target up to 4 times so its actually ~1.2k dmg + 300 dmg from reg lucent beam = ~1.5k dmg

And I think Jug's ulti is much better than it in that respect cause it grows stronger instead of being stagnant. Pudge and Anti-mage can own Luna easy. The weakest part to both Luna and Jug's ultis is that they can both be dodged with invis. Luna's even worst because you can get out of range and be ok (blink) or get an anti-magic shield up (Omniknight's skill).

The main reason why Luna is good is because of her glaive skill that lets her farm like a beast. A farmed Luna with butterfly, buriza and satanic = GG.
