Hi, I made a necromancer for first time and I was wondering what are the best builds or good builds that can get one through the game.

I'm looking forward to summoning (I like it) and at the same time me do some kind of damage. Generally I want to be helpful in any party. Then again you guys are the pros, so I'm confident you guys know a generally good build for necromancer. =)

Any suggestions, I'd be happy to read it!

Update: If there is any beginner's guide to necromancer, plz post the link to avoid further "noob" question spam. :)

seems the best summoner build to me, you might not be able to get the items quickly, but you can get through normal and nightmare easily with this build without any good items. I've really enjoyed it so far, and getting basic +3 to summoning skills items isn't that hard, and helps alot.

Amplify damage is helpful to all melee players, and to help out magic users you could put a point into lower resist. Plus your skeles are ofcourse great tanks. =)

thank you for the information :)

"noob question": Do curses stack? or putting one curse over an existing one just "deletes" the previous curse?

Example: I put Amplify magic, and then i place Iron Maiden on that same enemy.

Does Iron Maiden replace Amplify magic or does the enemy has both?

no curses do not stack it would be cool if they did.

His guide is pretty much just like any other summoner. ._.;; I'll admit that it does a lot for the player, but it's not like it's surprisingly different from any other version.

Oh, also a few curses DO stack with one another. Check the Arreat Summit in the necro's curse section, it says which ones can be linked.

In my opinion Bonemancers are my favorites.

There are builds for them all over the forum.

Summonmancers get through hell really good though.

I've heard otherwise.. any specific skills that are useful in hell, for us to-be summoners?

Really, that's my only concern. I've read Loki's guide, but I've been told by a friend to just skip the skeletons and such and max out my golems. Concentrating on Iron Golem, amp & corpse explosion.

I'm actually kind of torn. My current necro is 15... I've yet to spend a single skill point, heh. Any tips would be appreciated. I want to be able to be a worthy adversary in hell PvM. PvP need not apply.

an iron golem is only good for a LLD nec dueler. so follow Lokis' guide if you want i personally like a uber clay golem instead of tons of mages:)

Well I have a necromencer and what i do is every time i level up i start with getting my clay golem. After that i get the skelingtons and mages and use those when i train and am in battles. When distriuting points unless i need like attack for a quest or something i just hand it out evenly one to each.

the by far best necromancers are summonmancers.
Max:
Skele Warrior
Skele Mage
Skele Mastery
Revive
then put one point in amplify damage, one in corpse explosion.
(and one point in all prerequisites)
then the rest of the points are whatever you want, whether its a golem, or beefed up curses, you know, whatever.
