Lightning of Ice?

Ok, first off I just want to say that I wasn't quite sure what thread this should be posted in, since my post has single player features and sorceress build features, but I decided to put it here ^^.
Ok, I have a level 87 Blizzard sorceress (Jade) that is geared quite well (Except for Nightwings, fathom and Spirit of course) and she can take on all three prime Evils. The thing is, when it comes to hunting runes, I get burned. The Countess in Hell difficulty has about 130 cold resistance, so even if my Mercenary had an Infinity Polearm (level 12 conviction aura = -85% resistances, which still leaves the Countess at 45 cold resistance) I would have a very tough time killing her, eve with 7k damage blizzard. So, my question is, should I create a Lightning Sorceress from scratch, or keep my Blizz sorc? Runes are obviously one of the most important things in the game, so if I can't get any runes without trading, I'd have a hard time getting good runewords. Currently my Blizz sorc is my only character in Hell difficulty (sad, yes), but another option would be to level my lightning javazon and let her do the runehunting. Since magic find has nothing to do with the &drop rate of runes, should I take that option> ? Thanks guys

1. i don't see why it should be a problem since countess running is always done at p1 to maximise the rune finds. therefore, she'll be pretty easy to kill by the merc.

2. for any cold or cold/fire hybrids vs the countess, the merc will be our primary killer. you'll be supporting her with tk and static.

3. infinity will almost unlikely break cold immunes. the -85% enemy resistances work at 1/5 efficiency vs immunes, which the countess is (fire/cold).

4. the lightning java would be great at killing countess. but she doesn't have teleport =P

anyway, you've already gotten an infinity in sp. so that probably means you've either done hf rushing or lk runs. those 2 surely would have net better returns in terms of runes.. countess running are merely for mid-level runes.

Oh no no noo, I don't have infinity XD. I was saying that if I did it might be easier ^^.
Thanks for the input though, I'll start re-setting the game to players 1, that'll probably help ;)

I don't see why you cant trade for runes though. Its not that big of a deal. trade other types of items for runes.

or just buy them off of people. I don't know how that works online.
