Section 1: Introduction
Hi, and welcome to my second guide, the Poison Javazon. This build is incredibly viable in PvM (no matter what those “poison is teh nubzorz” people say, who suck) and if you know what you’re doing, can be used for PvP. This guide will explain how to use a character that is different, yet at the same time effective. If you’re a fan of non cookie-cutter builds, this may be for you.
Build Goals
Insane amounts of damage
Enough FRW to dodge everything =D (After Slow Missle, if you want to be BM)
86% FHR
20% FCR (LOL) if you want to telly
10% DR from Shako
Possible +100% Poison Damage, adding up to 100k+
CBF mod so you can stay alive

Section 2: Stat Allocation
Strength: Enough for gear, and NO more.
Dexterity: Enough for gear for PvM (Enough for Titan’s) or for PvP Max Block. I suggest NOT Max Block.
Vitality: EVERYTHING else.
Energy: None, you have plenty with gear, you can always chug a pot or find someone with an Insight, or TP to Marah.

Breakpoints
Faster Hit Recovery Breakpoints Faster Cast Rate Breakpoints
Frame 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3
FHR Needed 0% 6% 13% 20% 32% 52% 86% 174% 600%

Section 3: Skill Allocation
MAX these skills:
Poison Javelin
Plague Javelin

That’s it. Seriously, those are the only required skills for this build. Here are some more places yoou should spend some points.

1-5 Points:
D/A/E: These provide the very important “Nah, nah you can’t hit me” effect.
Critical Strike: Provides a chance to do double damage is nice, but it won’t work with poison, so it isn’t as necessary.
Penetrate: Increases your AR, which means you hit more often. Very nice.
Pierce: Gives your Javelins a chance to pass through your enemy, nice against large mobs and minion stack in PvP.
Valkyrie: A nice summon to aid that last bit of damage poison didn’t kill, and a meat shield.
Decoy: What can I say, some retards go after it in PvP.
Slow Missile: Nice to duel BM against casters, it makes the duel completely one sided.

Another nice option is to go hybrid and Max Lightning Fury, but that’s not this build, so I’ll leave that to a later date, but I figured I’d mention it as it is a practical choice.

As you see fit, add any extra points into skills in areas you seem to be lacking in. Evade is my personal place for more, or a Valk for more Damage. I won’t spoon feed you everything, test some ideas out.

Section 4: Equipment
While there is always a decent second choice, the first option is always the best IMO, so I will list it and a few, cheaper options for the less rich, but the best option will always be the most fitting to the build.

Weapon
Best/End Game Option:
Titan’s Revenge Matriarchal Javelin: Provides a nice +2 to Amazon skills, +2 to Javelin skills, Str, Dex, FRW, and it replenishes its own stack, my personal favorite mod.

Thunderstroke Matriarchal Javelin: With +2-4 Javelin skills, this isn’t a bad choice but this is definitely more aimed towards the Lightning side of the Javelin tree.

Armor
Best/End Game Option:
Bramble Runeword in an Archon Plate or another Low Requirement Armor: With its amazing +25-50% Poison damage, 15-21 Thorns Aura, FHR, Mana Regeneration, and Life after kills, and decent Resistance, this is DEFINITELY the armor you want. Save up for that RalOhmSurEth.

Enigma Runeword in an Archon Plate or another Low Requirement Armor: Aimed more at PvP for its ever important +1 to Teleport, it does have other nice mods, likes its massive strength boost.

Gloves
Best/End Game Option:
Trang-Ouls Claw’s Heavy Bracers: These are the only gloves for this build. The +25% poison damage is unable to be passed up.

Boots
Best/End Game Option:
Sandstorm Treks Scarabshell Boots: FRW, FHR, STR, VIT, and nice defense adds up to some pretty decent boots.

War Traveler Battle Boots: A decent second for the build, but are used more for MF, with their possible 50% MF boost.

Silkweave Mesh Boots: Good if you are lacking in the mana area, increase maximum mana by 10% and mana after kills, but still way behind the other option.
Helmet
Best/End Game Option:
Harlequin Crest Shako: This is the part I was at a loss for a best option. I picked this one for its +2 skills and open sockets to socket with 5-5 Poisons Facets.

Valkyrie Wing Winged Helm: Not a bad choice with +2 to Amazon skills, FRW, FHR, and mana after each kill.

Belt
Best/End Game Option:
Verdungo’s Hearty Cord Mithril Coil: This belt offers DR, FHR, a massive Vit boost, and replenishes life. Overall a great belt.

Snowclash Battle Belt: Great for its cold resistance increase.

Shield
4 Open Socket Monarch Shield with 5-5 Poison Facets: This is where a lot of your damage comes from. 20% of 50k damage is a lot, and when combined with the 50% from Bramble and 25% from Trangs Gloves, you can possibly get up near the 100k damage region.

Lidless Wall Grim Shield: Not bad with +1 to skills and a low strength requirement.

Spirit Monarch: +2 skills, FHR, and resistance. What isn’t to like other than the absence of 5-5 Facets?

Jewelry
Rings: 1x Ravenfrost and 1x Stone of Jordan or Bul-Kathos Wedding Band: The Ravenfrost gives the ever important CBF mod, along with Dex and 20% Cold Absorb. Both of the other options give a +1 to skills, pick the SoJ if you need mana or the BK for life.

Amulet: Mara’s Kaleidoscope: +2 skills, Nice resistance, and +5 stats. An overall great Ammy.

Telling of Beads Amulet: +1 skills and fire/cold Resistance makes this belt a decent second.

Charms
Standard best Amazon Torch you can get and best Annihilus you can get. 9x Javelin GC’s will boost your damage further. SC’s should be life, FHR, FRW, what ever you need. Fill in your gaps here. To hit the 86% FHR break point, you’ll need 16% here.

Section 5: Mercenary
The best mercenary for this build would have to be the Act 2 NM Holy Freeze Merc. It chills every monster, even cold immunes, and allows you to pick them off easier. Equip him with a high Damage Weapon and high defense armor and you have a nice tank by your side.

Equipment: Eth Bonehew, Andarial’s Visage, and Fortitude Armor.
Anythign like that should be fine. Try to keep him alive.

Section 6: Strategies
PvM
When playing PvM, stay back until your Merc and Valk start to tank, and the monsters are chilled. After that start chucking Poison Javelins everywhere—get everything poisoned and watch the carnage. Laugh maniacally. Repeat as desired.

PvP
This can be tricky unless you know what you are doing. My suggestion is use Plague Javelin seldom, due to its 4 second cool down time. Poison Javelin’s should be spammed in all directions, land hits and stay away until they are low, then finish them off with another Java, or switch to a bow for guided arrow, or the previously mentioned Light Fury hybrid combo. Just finish off their ***.

Section 7: Conclusion and Credits
Well, thanks for reading my guide. This guide will hopefully give an understanding of the seldom used Poison Javazon, who is IMMENSLY underestimated. The build is viable in PvM and PvP, and can be used to the players content. All thanks go out to anyone who answered my noob-ish questions on these forums, and anyone I asked for help along the way. Thanks for the read, and comment anything you wish, but be constructive.

All in all, not bad. Might want to list a pvp gear set-up involving CoA, and definetly a build goals section because this build is not very common at all.

Alright, thanks for the comments, I'll try to edit in a build goals section and a section for PvP gear after more testing.

Please Give me more opinions!

I added a rough and basic Build Goals section into the guide until I feel like making more in depth. More opinions, s'il vous plait!

Might want to edit some of the gear section, and highlight what piece of equipment so that it's easier to read. I actually couldn't find the helmet at first lol. Also may want to edit in fhr/fcr breakpoints, or atleast a link to them.

Alright. When i typed it up on Word, it was all in italics, but it didn't tranfer over here. And I will edit in breakpoints.

would a stormshield be a better idea for pvp instead of a 20/20 monarch?
just a thought

No, block isn't ideal, the whole point is to not get hit. The 20-20 adds enough damage to make the poison worthwhile, D/A/E will be al of the avoiding damage you need.

hm good build but i would get a stormsheild still as for pvp simple way of dueling is to throw poicen and stand in the poicen and use fury to finish them off oh and btw using a faith bow for casters.. dueling is very good another thing is the gloves using some rare 2-3 java skills with ias is alot good it does same poicen dmg but the time is longer now but still useful if you use bow for guided arrow same with a circle getting some ias from it too is useful but overall good build

Hehe i really like this build!! Especially the PvM straregy section "Laugh maniacally" xD

No really, a nice build. What i like is the consistency of it.

A few more choices in the gear section could make the guide even more thoroughly made... i. e. Thundergod's fury belt should be mentioned..

Resistances/lack of/how much is also not mentioned anywhere.

Bad PvP setup, poor PvM setup.

- FOr PvM, you really need to use Treachery armor (at least to prebuff Venom), as it helps you roll bosses.
- As Taurean mentioned, there is no mention of normal PvP requirements like Resists and such. Also, in the PvP world, there is always an OPTIMAL place for every extra skill point. Find it...

I didn't look into it that much, but did he calculate in that trangs poison application is bugged to deal >50% instead of 25% (it's like 51.xx or something) venom damage?

Double application only applies for melee attacks.

It's also 1.25^2 - 1, which is a 56.25% bonus.

EDIT: It's also in the post...

Q: Why doesn’t Venom’s Poison Damage get boosted a second time when I throw my Javelin?
A: Venom is one of the select skills (along with Enchant and the Holy Auras) that gets mastery bonuses applied twice… however, the double-mastery DOES NOT apply to ranged attacks. As a result, both Poison Javelin and Venom get boosted once, but neither gets boosted a second time.

Yaya, as I said I didn't read through the entire thing.

56.25% (1.25*1.25)

I had to zonfire it. Even if you are okay with using dupes, it still requires a pretty penny to work out.
