What should I make out of this?

So I found an eth 4 socket balrog blade and was thinking what I could use this for. Thought I could make a good act 5 merc weapon with it so went to see what runewords I could make and noticed that a good word was Oath.

Just adding an image of what it could turn out to look like...Although I don't know why the ED% in the picture is 355%. I got the info from the Diablo2 site btw hahaha. I'm guessing that there was a change between the patch maybe? No matter anyway.

No problems deciding it would be Oath I would make it into but that makes it Indestructible!! So now I have something else to think about. Would this weapon be a good viable weapon on a character instead of a merc.

So that's where I'd like some comments. What does everyone else think? Only character I could really think of really is a conc barb maybe. At least the lvl 16 HoW makes for a great cast and I guess the Iron Golem could be useful.

The base is 15 ED, and the mod is a perfect 340% ED, therefore, 355 ED. No idea on the build though, but wanted to point this out xD

imo they're are much better options for a character. i would suggest saving the runes for other things.

you can use it one-handed for ww-ing (it's fast!), as well as frenzy..
ethereal oath is a great budget weapon =)

Well the runes really aren't too expensive. The most expensive thing there would be the Mal and that's not too bad.

Like I said, if worse came to worse I might just use it for a Act 5 merc. There's not much better things an Act 5 merc could get at the same price. Ebotd is a more expensive option for a merc imo though it is better.

I believe Oath is a ladder-only runeword, so make sure you take that into account.

Oath is what it is. Great damage and good speed for a mal. There are better options out there, but only truly surpassed by Death (vex) Grief (lo) and BotD (zod, vex) for general purpose damage, and Oath is far cheaper than any of the above.


Most people here wouldn't care doodley-squat about dupes, but for those that play legit oath is an excellent, easily achievable weapon.
