Noob with questions.

Let me start of by saying hello...Well no that that's over I can get down to the nitty gritty. I am planning on building a PvM necro one battlenet. I will both solo and party. I am a bit interested in a Poison necro, though i have heard mixed opinions on the effectiveness of poison. I know about Fishymancers, and they sound good too, so i am kinda torn. If anyone could suggest a good poisonmancer build involving skills and equipment I would be very thankful! :)

+1 on Fishymancers. One of the easiest builds to play, and VERY effective.

The fishymancer is by far more effective, especially if you're new. On the other hand, the poison necro is by far (IMO) more fun to play, because they are different and a little challenging. A poison build looks like this:

20 Nova
20 Poison Explosion
20 Poison Dagger
1-20 CE for the aura of your personal preference
1-5 Points into a golem (Mine has fire golem for holy fire aura, finish off low HP monsters)
1 Point into the helpful, party minded curses

Basic strategy is run around like an imbicile spamming novas until everything
drops DED.

Thank you so much! Should I use lower resist as well, to negate enemies' resistance to poison? Should i max it if so?

Thanks guys. I read someone's strategy on another website that said to put 20 points into it, but from what i have heard from most people here and elsewhere, most curses, if not all, are one point wonders. Thanks again guys. I appreciate it. Any suggestions on gear?

trang's is actually geared towards the poison side of necro's skills.. great set bonuses, great +/- poison damage/enemy resists etc..

it's basically a good basic gear for any poisonmancer.

The fcr bug on full TO set screws the build up imo. Use Gloves/Belt/Shield combo for + psn dmg/- enemy psn res :)

with poison nova it doesn't really matter. it lasts 2 seconds anyway. any casts earlier would only reset the timer.. no added damage.

Yea in that case i might just do glove/beelt/shield. Should i go 125 fcr?

a necro in vampire form has different sets of breakpoints (fcr/fhr/ias etc) than when in human form.. generally, the vampire form has worse sets of bp.

as mentioned, fcr is pretty much moot when casting poison nova. no matter how many more casts you make in a second, you'll be doing the same amount of damage.

there really is no need for high fcr unless you're teleporting of course.

If you can get the runes for Bramble that can add up to +50% Poison Damage. Trangs Gloves +25%. Nice Combo.

That is the best way, but ful Trangs doesn't ruin it. Go about it depending on your personal preference.
