It's been a while since I've played Diablo II so could someone quickly answer whether or not 35% IAS or greater on a Grief Phase Blade would reach the maximum break point for whirlwind?

I've heard anything greater than 34% IAS on a Berserker Axe makes the breakpoint, but I wasn't sure if the Phase Blade was the same considering their base weapon speeds.

In other words, what weapon speed should I look for on a Grief Phase Blade for a whirlwind barb?

34% IAS or above on a Zerker is fine.

ANY Grief PB works.

Drop in range from zerker to PB is bad though. ._.;

So a 33% IAS Grief Phase blade is okay then?

More than enough.

If we even bothered to figure out IAS on a PB.

PB already has 30 ias...you only need about 4 more.

Grief's lowest IAS is 30%. Add that onto PB...it's about 60%...at lowest.

You're fine. o;

I wouldn't recommend using a PB on a barb though.

why is that?

why is that?

Less damage, and less range.

^^holds true for pvp..

but in pvm, it shouldn't really matter. the damage is only ~15+ average and range is pretty negligible. the +damage is what really makes the runeword..

The damage factor is pretty minimal.

The only reason is range.

Yea, which helps a lot in melee.

Drop in range from zerker to PB is bad though. ._.;I believe I covered that fact.
