View Full Version : Which source of Life Tap?

Most of us that use barbs know that LT doesn't cast with WW...that's why WW barbs usually have some sort of LT charge gear. I'm trying to fit out my stash with as many options as I can and I'm having a question which source of Life Tap I should go.

Marrowwalk-These boots have 10 level 12 charges of Life Tap. That's a huge radius and it should last for quite a bit of time. (about 42 seconds) The downfall is how much it'd cost to repair the recharges. I used 3-4 charges and had to be about 42k gold. But the advantage of these is I can use LT without having to switch weapons. I can just cast and go.

3WC/LT dagger-Among the ultimate in WC weapons. It gives you the Life Tap without having to sacrifice the WCs. It would save the most space as I won't have to switch anything out to use a form of LT. The only disadvantages are you have to switch to cast and the fact that they're INCREDIBLY hard to find/afford.

Plain LT wand/dagger-The lowest end on the list. The wand takes up the least space, but you still have to take out a WC weapon to use it...lowering your life/mana/stamina, plus the fact you have to switch weapons to cast LT and then switch back to attack. Still...it's better than having no Life Tap at all.

So those are the choices I have right now. Any opinions welcome, as well as any sort of gear I don't know about. For the record, this is ONLY to be used as a LT smiter counter, or for other melee that does the same. I think having a source of LT would help me better than a Doom.

If it's only against LT smiters and other melee classes that use LT, go with Marrows. If you can set up a decent GF barb the money won't be a problem at all, and no equip changes is required (I assume that's what you meant).

Neither need item change or weapon switching.

I find Doom more useless than people say.

i only say marrows because ... the switch on the wc/lifetap dagger/sword/w.e could be a pain in the ***.

Yeah, that's what I think, too. I mean you could easily switch, LT, switch back before they get to you...but I really don't want to take the chance. Marrows gets rid of a step or two.

Maybe if I wanted a slower than **** WW speed AND have a useless source of Life Tap.

Note: Procing Life Tap doesn't WORK with WW.

GFG, you lose.

Marrow's so you only swap skills rather then weapons.

Also FYI:1 Ral Rune + 1 Flawed Gem (any kind) + Armor = Fully Repaired and Recharged Armor . You may have known this, but I guess it's probably easier to use gold.

Not tryin to toot my horn, but I never felt a need to use Tap vs smiters with Tap. I love dueling smiters generally and I get tapped all the time. I can't be bothered with Doom either.

I just really can't get past telesmiters using a source of LT for the life of me. ._.;

I guess they must be getting better out there- you gettin the smack down with holy freeze too(meaning freezing you)?

Are you using angelic/demonlimb?

I'm using angelic...not so much demonlimb.

I haven't been hit with a HF telemsmiter...not going to be happy when I do either.

I've been playing around with a bunch of AR increasing/defense lowering options.

A zerker with six Eths in it, Hsarus combo and demonlimb are all valid options to me right now...the main problem is space.
