Barb WW vs Barb Frenzy

im starting to train a barb and dont know if i should train for WW or Frenzy

Well I've been waiting for a response to the same question so since this guy doesn't really care about it I'll ask from my point of view.

For PvM, is WW > frenzy?

Right now I'm pretty much maxing out Double Swing, I'm only lvl 21 (i think) so I'm still n00bish with gear n stuff

Good question, frenzy sucks in PvP.

Good question, frenzy sucks in PvP.Despite the fact you can desync like all hell with it.

Some frenziers are pretty successful. Frenzy's main weakness is vs melee.

Both work.

Pretty equal.

Frenzy makes you crazy fast...and WW has multiple hits and you move through mobs.

Can't go wrong with either.

What ever you do, make sure to max Battle Orders, 1 point into Battle Command/Shout/Leap/Natural Resistance/Iron Skin/Increased Stamina/Increased Speed. Also, find out which type of weapon your going to use and max that Weapon Mastery, and make sure to put atleast 1 point into Whirlwind, even if you decide to go Frenzy.

if you go whirlwind make sure you pack on that leech with only 1 point in it it still doesnt do that much damage until you get all your +skill items. believe its negative damage for a few levels when its low.

Yea what you would do is use Frenzy as your primary and then when you get surrounded you whirlwind out of it and Frenzy more.

You could technically Leap, but I'm going on being mobbed...where WW would undoubtedly be better.

I got a quick question, I'm working on a frenzy barb right now, I'm figuring on going with a BOTDz and a Deathz for my offhand and Fort for my main armor while using Nigma for a secondary armor. Does this sound like a good Combo? I hear good things about Grief, but I'm still not sold on it vs. a Deathz. Any Thoughts?

PvM You'd be better off with BotD. Death/Beast would be damn good in PvM as they both have that Crushing blow, but BotD has the LL that Death doesn't. Grief is more a PvP weapon, imo. If you can handle the lower IAS breakpoint, which shouldn't be ball-busting in PvM, then BotD/Death should work fine.

I just built a WW barb and it doesn't seem to be working the way I remember. I stopped about 4 years ago and recently came back. I have my attacks set for my left mouse and chants, crys and such for my right.

I can't remember how I use to do it but I remember clicking a destination in the area when I have WW triggered and I would WW to that area. It doesn't seem to be doing that for me now even if I have enough mana it just does a half *** spin or 2 and stops.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening or maybe experienced the same thing?

Or maybe I'm just an idiot and don't remember how to play the game but if someone could help me out, that'd be great.

^^ hold shift and click behind the enemy. cause he will then WW thru them instead of right up to them then stop


Whats a better combo for a PvM monster that i will sometimes duel with?
I have an EBOTDz and want to pair it with something. whats better?

beast, doom, death, and other axe runewords like that...

the damage you get from grief is pretty devistating and the runes are not that expensive. It works great in PvM due to ingonring targets defense. Anytingn over 34% ias on it and your all set there also. If you need the CB and DS then Death is a very nice alternative since you can use it in etheral form for increaded damage. Doom can be nice for the freezing aura but with act 2 defensive merc you get that. beast has nice fanaticsm aura that could benefit you also. I guess it depends on what other gear u are using and the bonuses that you get from it. Ebotdz and Edeathz is a nice combo to use though if you can afford to make both.

I used to run with Death/Beast and it worked fine.

I don't like Grief because of how expensive it is to repair...granted, orts can net you that...but you'll be killing a lot more often than you get orts.

PvM doesn't have a huge requirement on IAS speeds so hitting the top breakpoint shouldn't be a HUGE priority. CB/fast enough to kill/able to survive. That's really it.
