Hi there,
i'm sorry to ask for help but I am rubbish at most computer things. I have recently acquired Diablo 2 and which aparently installed fine with my Vista system. When I start the program I get a Program Compatibility warning saying there are known issues. Has anyone else had this problem and is there an easy way round it?
cheers

Hey Stew,
I also am a Vista user :( and I went to Blizzard.com and installed the patch they have for Diablo2. This was when a friend loaned me the game about 2 months back. Worked fine. You may have to right click on the D2 icon, on your desktop and run in XP compatability mode. You will see a list that comes up, with that or similar choice in it. This was with no LOD expansion. I then uninstalled after making sure it would run. I got a similar error message along with an error saying that I should make sure the "Play Disk" is in my drive (which of course it was), after the patch...all was fine.
I then purchased the total package, bundled with the LOD expansion disk and never needed the patch. I think because all the patches are included on the disk.
Just make sure you right click on that D2 icon on your desktop and change the compatability mode. It will make the game seem likes it's running on XP and such.
Any other questions...I'll try to help. I'm sure there are more experienced ones out there that can help also.
Now..I just need help joining multiplayer games. I keep getting the dreaded "Failed to join game"
