I'm making a WW Barbarian and I was wondering..

The move Whirlwind costs from 25 to 40 mana depending on the skill level, and I was wondering how you deal with the mana cost. I know you don't put energy into the stats so what do you do about the mana drain.

I had a couple of guesses:

*do you mana pot really badly?
*use mana drain?
*use charms to up your energy/mana?

Early on it's mana pots really bad, but what you want to find are weapons with mana leech so you can continue to WW without worrying.

What type of whirlwind build are you going with, and Pvp or Pvm?

Ah ok then...mana leech is what you want.

Say if you deal 300-500 dmg ^^ (just take a number) - you have 80 mana. You have 5% mana leech.

5% out of 400 = 20 mana points stolen on average each time you hit. And you should hit at least twice each time you ww... and 5% isn't much..

Wow, way to be negative. Youre kinda bumming me out. But, if you have rings and a weapon that do mana leech, plus an armor piece that converts damage taken to mana maybe, then you'd be getting somewhere.
Besides, its not the end of the world if you run out of mana, you should still be doing decent damage with your normal hit.
Also another question, what skills other than mace mastery and whirlwind should I max? I was thinking a warcry of some sort would help, but what do you think? And how much should I invest in iron skin?

Don't worry about it, mana leech is a godsend for WWers.

Max whatever weapon mastery based on the weapon you plan on using when your barb is done.

Max BO and Shout generally.

One point Berserk for when you're Iron Maidened.

One point every other mastery (not including other weapon masteries)

One point BC.

And leftover points go into iron skin, right?

Yeah, that should do ok.

You could also go out of your way to get Battle Cry. It'll lower your enemies' defense so you can hit them easier.
