On mine, when I had him running nm, he was finding 300-400k a run. Sometimes more, 600k was the most, one run was 0. Not a single gold drop. When I got better gear for merc, I was able to run hell with him. There you will find 600-1000k a run. They take about 25% longer a run, but well worth it. I actually had less gf for the hell runs, but i have just under a total of 400 mf on him. Was able to find some very nice items that way too.


Rappel had a mini guide for hell trav runs that I based mine off of. Hopefully he can repost it.


And for my stats, i have 2.2k gf 400 mf 4.4k life and resistances in the 40's. The gear on my barb was fairly cheap, it was the merc that was expensive. ebotd war pike, ebug fort, and then an eth cot, socketed with a lem. The helm was cheap (self found) but the rest was not. for nm runs all you need is wealth armor for your merc, and pretty much any descent damage polearm. I used a reapers toll. Cheap and effective. The cold damage was a little annoying. would some times burst the trav monsters to where i wouldn't get a chance to hork them. but ehh, it worked for the time being.

anyway, might merc with crown of thieves, wealth and any decent lem'd wep is fine.
you'll be wearing 2 ali babas lem'd, wealth/goldskin, infro boots, chancies, goldwrap, crown of thieves and 2 dwarf stars. decent Gheed's is nice too, and GF charms.
ammy is up to you.
that's it, just if you or anyone else needs a quick answer. skills are pretty obvious..

Ort + Weapon in cube = Fully repaired weapon.

Ral + Armor in cube = Fully repaired armor.

Saves a ton of gold. :P

And Orts and Rals aren't all that hard to come by.

just found this guide, altought it's for hell runs. As it says, get an "Edge" bow for prices reduce and does anyone have an option for an ammy? I couldn't think about one.

and wtf? not a single gold drop? I think the chances for that is like getting a Lo from the countess- only on the bad side..

that's only if you need to recharge a weapon. IE how bramble has spirit of barb charges on it. If you use them and want to recharge them, you need the chipped gem to do it, otherwise just the run is ok.

the armor one is for any armor, not just body. so boots, gloves, helm, belt, all that stuff will work.

I Once did two hell countess runs in a row where she dropped 1 rune each: el and then el. then again, the next run, she dropped two fals and a key :)

OK... A chipped gem + ral will repair armor. But now the important question, is there a way to repair the charges in a torch without useing gold?
