Probably.

To the creator, items disappear after a certain length of time if left on the floor. Usually can be only a few minutes, sometimes a bit longer (5-10).

ya all items have a set time they can sit on the ground before they poof eth items have a 5min poof I belive while uniques have a 20 or 30 min poof time rares are like 15min I'm not sure of all the poof times tho

You either left it on the ground for too long, or it was in your invent when you left the game, it was duped, and got poofed. Either way, it's OP's fault and should stop trolling for sympathy.

There are timers for how long items last when dropped on the ground. Runes and runewords unfortunately count as "white" items and vanish in just a few minutes. Magics, rares, and uniques last a bit longer.

White, non eth lasts 5-10 mins. Eth whites (incl runewords) only last 2-3 minutes on the ground. Magics/gold last 30 mins, rare/set/uniques all last 60 mins.

I would never believe it was true, but i had an Insight CV poof on me during some mulegame a week ago. It was 100% legit. By what i read here, i guess it`s just in the game that it happens ..

i had that happen to me along time ago when i was new and i sent a complain letter to blizz suport cuz i was so pissed and thought it wast the end of the world lol but they sent me back the average cant do anyting about it but they did say that if u make the runeword with duped runes that will cause it to disapear as well

Runewords with duped runes doesn't disepear like that. And about duped hrs. How many legit ones do you think exist on the realms? Not so many, heh.

It doesn't matter, if the game didn't eat it then it didn't poof unless it was duped after the runeword was completed. If you dupe a shell and then put in the last rune to complete the runeword it obtains a completely new item ID. Therefore it won't poof.
