Can't Connect to US West

Hi, I'm having some connection issues. I'm able to connect to US East, Asia, Europe, but I cannot connect to US West. It searches for half a second then gives me the unable to connect check modem error message. I'm behind a router if that helps. It just doesn't make any sense that I'm able to connect to the other 3 realms but just not US West. Any help is appreciated.

Well if you are only having this problem today its most likey because of the ladder reset but that would mean that you wouldn't be able to log onto any realm, strange alright.
Try deleting the file in your Diablo2 folder, usually saved in C:\Program Files\Diablo II, called BnCache and see if that helps

I'm having the same problem only on EAST. I haven't checked the other realms but it's been like this all day today and yesterday.. It sucks. I finally have time on my hands to play and I can't connect

I have the same problem as above, I can't connect to USwest, I have no idea why, and none of the other realms give me trouble. I've tried resetting my server list, I even reinstalled... I'm completely puzzled as to why I can't get on. Could it be that I've been banned for some reason? I tried to connect with my friends account on his laptop and apparently he used a keygen and it didn't let him on and since then I haven't been able to get on with my computer.

Any thoughts?

I know it's not much help of me to say, but I, too, am having this issue.

Is this something just recent or has it been going on for a while?

I just got the game and I'm having the same problem with USEast server. I can connect to all the other servers but east.

Yah i cant connect to US East or West either. but europe and asia is letting me on fine.
its kinda ridiculous when a friend i know 10 mins from me is able to get on East or West no problem.

by any chance did u createand join games really fast on those servers? if u make more than 3 games per min or 20games per hour u will get this temp restriction. it can last from 5 mins up to 72 hours. THE MORE U TRY TO LOG ON TO THAT SERVER THE LONGER YOUR BAN WILL BE. this ban is ip based so it means that your internet connection is banned from that server. then only thing u can do i wait it out of change your ip i wont go into that atm. but google is your freind. try gooleing d2 resetting ip. hope this helps

I can't speak for the rest of them, but i'm unable to even get to the login screen to login in too fast or change games. I'm sitting at the main load up screen and USwest and USeast act like I have no internet, its bizarre.

I am having this same exact problem, i cannot connect to west, but east, asia europe just fine, it has lasted a week now, and i did play on it after the ladder reset so I know it's not that! i hope someone is able to figure this out!

Same problem as everyone else. I can connect to Europe & US East fine, but Asia & US West give "unable to connect to battle.net". I'm in Australia and no firewalls or proxies are being used. I set DMZ up just incase it was a ports issue but that was no help. I've tried everything others have already mentioned and it hasn't helped either.

Surely someone knows what's causing this?

Problem solved, I had been IP banned. I had borrowed my friend's unused copy thinking it would work as he doesn't play it anymore, and had tried to connect to US West & Asia but got errors about the serial being in use already. So I tricked the Optus network into assigning me a new IP and now I'm good as gold. :D

For those still having this problem, try changing your IP address. Even if you've never played the game before, someone else with the same ISP may have been banned and you could have been assigned their address.

How? Depends on your connection. For dynamic IPs (dial-up, ADSL), disconnect from the internet and leave your connection off for a while, then reconnect and hopefully someone else took your old IP so you get a different one.

If your IP is static (DSL/cable), you can do it the same way but it is less likely to work. If you have a router and it supports MAC spoofing, try changing the MAC address of the router just slightly and then powercycle your modem (unplug it from the power for a minute). This will trick your modem into thinking it's connected to a different PC and may (MAY) get you a different IP. I make no guarantees that this will work with your ISP but it can't hurt to try.
