What is Farcast? Top
A glitch/hack that a Charged Strike Zon uses to cast Charged Strike as a Long range spell instead of its usual close range. You can get a Program to make it work all the time or use the glitch way which consists with hotkeys that only works 50% of the time usual. Most of the programs out there are viruses or worse.
What is Ruststorm? Passive/Active runs? Top
Blizzard also implemented a new system for identifying and deleting illegal items on the realms. The system was dubbed "rust storm" because hacked items are "rusted" and removed from the realms. When Blizzard is made aware of a new hacked or bugged item, they can simply update the rust storm filters and the item will be deleted from the entire realm. The feature was intended to help keep the economy stable and free from items that give players an unfair advantage.
Passive Ruststorm is run most of the time and is a light scan basicly
Activie Ruststorm is where they shut down the servers and run a deep scan. this one has only been run once during the transaction between version 1.09 to 1.10

They are the first part to a Realm-Only Event on Battle.net. This event is called the Pandemonium Event (Ubers). You start out collecting keys which then after getting 3 of each key type you go to hell act 5 and insert 1 of each key type into the cube and transmit it. Repeat two more times in act 5 hell in different spots to avoid portals from overlapping resulting in losing the chance to uber. In each of the three red portals will be a dungeon like setup where you search till you find the Little Ubers: Über Duriel | Über Izual | Lilith each one is will drop a organ: Diablo's Horn, Mephisto's Brain, and Baal's Eye. After getting theses you will return to act 5 hell and insert into the cube to make a new Red Portal which leads to a Tristam Setting that contains the 3 Uber Prime Evils: Pandemonium Diablo | Über Baal | Über Mephisto. After defeating them you will gain a Unique Large Charm (Hellfire: +3 Character Class all Skills Which is random" Example is +3 Pally Skills", 10-20 All Stats, 10-20 All Resist, 5% chance to cast Hellfire "An attack that diablo uses")

"Your Connection Has Been Temporarily Restricted" Top
The most common causes include, but are not limited to:
Going in and out of games too quickly (most common cause)
Going in and out of accounts/characters too quickly
Spamming text in the chat channel
Overuse of the mouse wheel
Repeated use of an incorrect password may lock an account login for your protection
Repeated attempts to use an invalid CD-Key
Rapidly connecting/disconnecting to Battle.net
Repeated use of third-party programs (hacks) - these include but are not limited to sending bad packets, flooding the server(s), and the use of hack programsTemporary restrictions will last anywhere between a few minutes and 72 hours, and repeated logon attempts may result in a longer restriction.
If the restriction lasts for more than 72 hours, contact tech support at support@blizzard.com.
The only legitimate solution to temporary restrictions is time.
We are aware players may be experiencing technical difficulties while using Diablo II or Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Players have reported their service will suddenly become interrupted during game play and are then unable to log back on to the Battle.net server as they receive the message "Your connection has been temporarily restricted from this realm. Please try to log in at another time." These messages may appear as a result of:
- Rapidly connecting and disconnecting to Battle.net
- This is generally caused by connection or networking issues. If you are disconnected, we suggest you wait 5-10 minutes before reconnecting to Battle.net.
- You can check our Connection Issues (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20792) page for help with disconnections.
- Creating or joining numerous games within a short time period
- Common causes include muling, magic finding, Baal/Pindleskin runs, and in some cases rapid actions within the game itself. If you stay in each game longer you should be able to avoid the restriction. Generally 10 minutes per game is fine.
- Rapidly swapping characters in and out of games.
- By the use of "add-on programs"
- Users must refrain from using any sort of "add-ons" or third party programs meant to interface or be run with the game on Battle.net. Use of such programs is a violation of the Battle.net Terms of Use and in addition to a restriction from Battle.net may also result in your account and CD-Key being permanently banned.
- Use of common programs can cause undocumented problems while playing on Battle.net. It is recommended that you close as many running applications as possible before playing.
- Chat channel abuse
- Chat channel abuse can be characterized by any action deemed inappropriate or harmful to others or to the stability of the servers themselves.
- This includes spamming, advertising websites, harassment, among other Battle.net Terms of Use violations.
- We recommend you read and understand the Battle.net Terms of Use (http://www.battle.net/tou.shtml) as well as the Battle.net Terms of Use FAQ (http://www.battle.net/toufaq.shtml).
- Failed login attempts
- This commonly includes attempting to connect to Battle.net multiple times while using an invalid CD-Key or account password. As a security precaution the server will automatically restrict you after too many failed attempts.
- If you are having problems logging in to your account please visit the Password Recovery page (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20722) to help explain the options for recovering your account. For various CD-Key issues please visit the CD-Key section (http://us.blizzard.com/support/index.xml?categoryId=2616) of the support site.
This is a temporary restriction and it should automatically release itself after a predetermined amount of time. Each restriction is different and lengths are dependant upon the severity of the violation. If you find that your play style includes creating multiple games in a short period of time, please try reducing the number of games you create. This is also a realm specific error so you may find yourself being able to connect to the other 3 realms as well as Open Battle.net and Single Player.
If your temporary restriction lasts longer than 3 days please contact us by using our webform (http://us.blizzard.com/support/webform-us.xml) and include your account name, realm, and a time frame of how long you have been experiencing this issue. Please be aware that we are not able to remove these restrictions.
Source: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20794"Unable to identify Application Version" Top
If you are receiving an error message that says "unable to identify application version", then your game data may have been altered or corrupted in such a way that Battle.net no longer can determine if you need the patch. When you connect to Battle.net, it will check the version of the game you have installed and patch the game to the latest version if necessary. If Battle.net cannot determine the version of the game you are running, then it will not allow you on. Only the latest game version will be able to join Battle.net.
First, just to rule out any type of connection problem and to make sure you are not getting a false error message, please try to join Battle.net a few times in a row. Also, make sure you are using the original game CD in your CD-ROM drive. Any programs or patches that allow the game to run without the CD in the CD-ROM drive are not supported and may cause this error.
In addition to third-party programs causing this problem, a virus may alter the game data and prevent you from joining Battle.net.
VIRUS CHECK:
Please make sure that you are using the most current update for your virus detection software. If a virus is detected, you will want to clean the infected files, not delete them. Deleting the infected files could cause serious problems with your system. After you have cleaned those files, the programs that were infected will most likely need to be re-installed in order for them to work properly.
If your virus detection software is not able to detect or clean the infected files, or if you do not have any virus detection software, then please try a virus scanner listed below:
http://security1.norton.com/us/home.asp?
http://www.leprechaun.com.au/
REINSTALL GAME:
In order to restore the original game data files, we recommend that you fully reinstall and patch the game before trying to log onto Battle.net again. You may wish to back up your saved games to another directory before uninstalling the game. Now reinstall the game and download the patch from http://www.blizzard.com/patches/. Now you should be able to log into Battle.net again.
If the "unable to identify application version" error happens again, this indicates that the game data is continuing to be altered and a virus may still be present on your system. You may need to contact your system manufacturer or your local computer technician for additional help cleaning the system.

"Unable to Enter Game"/"Failed to Join Game" Top
Players receiving an "Unable to Enter Game" or "Failed to Join Game" error when joining a game with Diablo II can be caused by a few different things:
Different Game Type:
If a Ladder character tries to join a game created by a Non-Ladder character or vice-versa, the character will receive either an "Unable to Enter Game" or "Failed to Join Game" error.
Network Security:
This error may also be caused by firewalls and other background network applications (such as popup blockers). Try disabling any firewalls or other applications you have running to see if the problem is resolved. If you are still receiving this error then you may need to configure your firewall to work with the game or remove it completely. We have limited information available about configuring firewalls on our Network Help (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21109) section.
Temporary Connection Issue:
Also, this error may just be a temporary connection problem resulting from a recent disconnection from Battle.net. You may want to create a new character and see if the problem exists with all of your characters or only with one character. If the issue only exists with a single character, the character may still be temporarily logged into the previous game.
If the problem continues, please contact us via e-mail about the issue by filling out the Email Webform (http://us.blizzard.com/support/webform-us.xml). Please be sure to include the following information so that we may investigate the issue further:
- Realm: (e.g. USWest, USEast, Europe, Asia1, Asia2, Asia3)
- Character Name: (If you cannot remember your character name(s), you can find them in the DiabloII\Save\ folder on your hard drive.)
- Account Name:
- Problem: (A short description of your problem and how long it has been happening - be sure to mention if the problem exists on all of your characters or just one character.)

Battle.net Connection issues Top
If you are having problems connecting to Battle.net or staying connected to Battle.net, please try our easy to follow steps one at a time and then attempt to connect to Battle.net, as each step has the potential of solving Battle.net connection issues.
Step 1:
Check for Updates:
- If you are not able to get onto Battle.net, please download and install the latest patch from the Patch page (http://www.blizzard.com/patches).
- Check the Battle.net Status Forum (http://www.battle.net/forums/board.aspx?ForumName=battlenet-status) for any information regarding server maintenance.
- Check the Technical Support News Page (http://www.blizzard.com/support/) for any information about current connection issues.
Step 2:
Background Applications:
You may need to exit any programs you have running in the background to improve network performance and stability. For instructions on closing background applications, please visit the appropriate page below:
- Windows - Closing background applications (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21052)
- Macintosh - Closing background applications (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21123)
Step 3:
Temporary Restrictions:
Please try to connect to all four Battle.net Realms (USEast, USWest, Europe, and Asia). If only one Battle.net Realm is inaccessible to you, then it may just be a temporary connection problem or a temporary restriction. Battle.net access may be temporarily restricted for one of the following reasons:
- Spamming text in the chat channel (often associated with bots)
- Rapidly connecting/disconnecting to Battle.net (often associated with bots)
- Repeated attempts to use an invalid CD-Key
- Repeated use of an incorrect password may lock an account login for your protection
- Repeated use of third-party programs (hacks) - these include but are not limited to sending bad packets, flooding the server(s), and the use of hack programs
Step 4:
Battle.net Server List:
Someone or something may have modified your server list so you are no longer connecting to a Blizzard Entertainment Battle.net server. For instructions on restoring the correct server list, please go to this page (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21138).
Step 5:
Internet connection notes:
Firewalls, Routers, and Internet Connection Sharing
- If you are using any type of firewall, router, or you are sharing your internet connection between several computers, you may need to set your system up to allow access to Battle.net. For instructions on setting up your connection, please go to this page (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21086).
Test your Internet connection:
- Use the Telnet command to make sure your Internet connection is running smoothly. Go here for more information (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21139).
- Use the Traceroute report to help identify if and where a problem is happening. Go here for more information (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21140).
- Use the NSLookup command to check the connection. Go here for more information (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21141).
Step 6:
Information for AOL and Dial-Up Users:
America Online:
- To connect to Battle.net via AOL, make sure you are running the latest version of the AOL software.
- Make sure you are connecting to AOL with parental controls turned off. If you have continuing problems try logging onto AOL using the Main Account. You can also try connecting to AOL using a different local access number.
Dial-Up Users:
- Wait 15 minutes to an hour and try connecting to Battle.net again. Many Internet connection issues are temporary and will clear up on their own.
- Your modem may need updated drivers to work more reliably. Check your modem manufacturer's website for updated drivers, or contact them by phone.
- Try different dial up numbers for your Internet Service Provider if alternate numbers are available in your area.
Additional information for Macintosh Dial-Up Users:
- Your modem script may need changes to work with your modem more reliably. Your ISP or Apple should be able to provide assistance with changes to your modem script.
- You may need to update your version of Open Transport. The Open Transport software updates are available on the Software Updates area of Apple's web site (http://www.apple.com/).
Step 7:
Request for additional information:
If all previous steps have not fixed any connection problems you are having, please use the Battle.net Connection Inquiry (http://us.blizzard.com/support/battlenetwebform-us.xml) webform for additional assistance from a technical support representative. This form is only for users who are having connection problems with Battle.net.

Port Information for Firewalls, Proxies, and Router Top
Who should I contact regarding the configuration of my firewall, proxy, or router?
Blizzard does not support proxies (Internet connection sharing), firewalls, or routers. The settings provided are suggested settings only. However, we do have some suggested settings for BlackICE (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21108), ZoneAlarm® Pro (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21197), Sygate Personal Firewall Pro (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21207), and Windows XP's Internet Connection Firewall (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21219).
You may need to contact your ISP or network administrator for assistance if you have opened the correct ports but still cannot connect or get others connected to you.
What do I need to know about ports?
Anytime your computer receives incoming data, it is sent to a "port". Your computer has many ports that can receive data, and different activities will utilize different ports.
How are ports being restricted?
Most proxy servers, firewalls, and other Internet connection sharing methods can restrict port access. Your configuration may be restricting packets from "unknown sources". In this case an "unknown source" would be defined as any IP address that you have not initiated the contact with. Once you contact the IP address, your proxy and/or firewall considers it "safe", or a "known source", since you initiated the contact. When you create a game on Battle.net, other users need to be able to contact you in order to join. In other words, they need to be able to initiate the contact. This becomes the real problem if your connection is restricting them from contacting you.
What ports are required and with what settings?
In order to connect to Battle.net, through your Local Area Network, while allowing others to connect to games you create, make sure you have the following ports setup as described below. Diablo and Warcraft II Battle.net Edition:
- Allow port 6112-6119 TCP and UDP out and in
Diablo II:
- Allow port 6112 TCP out and allow established sessions in
- Allow port 4000 TCP out (realm games)
- Allow port 4000 TCP out and in (hosting open games only)
Notes:
- "Established sessions in" applies to firewalls only. NAT will allow the "established sessions in" automatically.
- NAT users will need to map any "in"s (hosting games only) to the IP of the computer hosting the game.
- Warcraft III is the only Blizzard Title that currently supports multiple players hosting games behind NAT.
- Some firewall programs have preset ports available in their configurations that are often necessary to be open. One in particular is a connection to your DNS server. This usually takes place on UDP port 53.What do I do if I am still having problems connecting using a firewall, router, or proxy?
If you need further help configuring your firewall, router, or proxy you will need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
There is also a third party site (http://www.portforward.com (http://www.portforward.com/)) which may provide help on how to forward the ports on your router.
