Imbuing!!!

Where can i find some info on imbuing. I am building a WW Barb and don't know what to give charsie to imbue for me. I am at lvl 27 right now. I put all my skill points to sword mastery.

Should i use a helm, body armour, sword? Also, do i need to use exeptional or elite items if i want the end result to be better or can any non-magical item be used and still attain great results?

Well, I have no idea why you turn to us, as only you can decide what your character needs. Is it a better weapon, a better armor ? We can't tell.

Only your character level will determine what magic properties can spawn on the imbued item. A level 27 character has less properties options than a level 67 one, thus having less chance of producing a high quality rare item. Note that higher level does not mean better item, just more properties available to spawn on it. The base item stats don't really matter, as Elite or Exceptional items don't have an effect on what properties will spawn. But logically, if you have 2 rare items with the exact same properties, one normal and one Elite, the Elite will be better.

Personally, I've never had anything worth keeping with the Imbue quest, even if I wait until my characters are higher level. Maybe some others have gotten great things and I'm simply unlucky...

That makes sense i guess. If i wait till i get to a higher level I may get something worth keeping. If i use it now, i may get something that can help me for a while till i find a rare item.

If it can help, I always use the quest reward when I first get it to help my character right now, because nothing I get out of Imbuing at later levels is good enough for him at that point.

well if you imbue a lesser quality item you can always uprgrade it to the elite version(on ladder). so it's really up to you.

I had the same question Aggie. Thank for asking it. I'm building a Trapsin and felt like waiting to imbue something. But i think Dargad brings a good point of it helping right now because later you may find better gear.

get ur highest level and imbue what u want

Still searching for something to imbue at level 33, but I really think it is only useful at early levels. At this point, I have a unique level 31 bow, a unique level 42 bow, and a unique level 60 bow. I don't think a rare bow (even elite) will really help me. Course, I could just imbue body armor and hope it sells for a lot...

Off topic, but how do you upgrade an item to elite (all of my characters are ladder)

Through transmuting in the Horadric Cube, with the correct recipe.

1 Ral Rune + 1 Sol Rune + 1 Perfect Emerald + Normal Unique Weapon = Exceptional Version of Weapon

1 Tal Rune + 1 Shael Rune + 1 Perfect Diamond + Normal Unique Armor = Exceptional Version of Armor

1 Lum Rune + 1 Pul Rune + 1 Perfect Emerald + Exceptional Unique Weapon = Elite Version of Weapon (Single Player and Ladder Only)

1 Ko Rune + 1 Lem Rune + 1 Perfect Diamond + Exceptional Unique Armor = Elite Version of Armor (Single Player and Ladder Only)

Personaly i wait till im a high lvl to use my imbude quests. Almost always on circs. I've gotten 2 that were worth a damn. I've probaly done 40 or so, so i think i've been fairly lucky. Its just like mf'ing, it's all luck.

^^you'll have a much better chance of getting good circs gambling them, but yeah i always imbuce cirs or tiaras etc. with my quests.

I would suggest imbuing Etheral items. They would get nicer stats, but just hope for the repl. dura mode.

do note that the new ilvl of imbued items are based on your character level. so, when imbuing with higher level characters, you'll get better mods.

as for imbuing eth items, i recommend ethereal crystal swords/dimensional blades. who knows, you could find one with a cruel mod. upgrade it to phase blade and it'll become indestructible =)

I've found no real point in waiting to imbue anything. You get the help when you can get it, and usually you find better gear anyway. Most of the time, I usually don't bother to imbue at all.
