You can do the same lvling on sp that you would do on bnet, only diff is you actually have to quest your way threw instead of gettin the rush. just when you get to a big boss area level with it first for a few before moving on, (with the acception of duriel)

abuse /players 8 command.
in general gameplay, most likely you'll finish normal at level 40, nightmare at level 70..

oh yea i cant believe i forgot players 8, it simulates x players in teh game as if you were partied with someone, so you can enter numbers 1-8 for that command.

so if i typed /players 8 it would be like having 8players in SP?
Does this help me any?
also whats with the trading thing? ive seen it a few times...it involves emailing?
in general gameplay, most likely you'll finish normal at level 40, nightmare at level 70..
Unless you're something like me that finishes normal at lvl 50 and nightmare at lvl 75. :D If you want to trade you'll need ATMA, also RRM, red rune mod that turns the display name of the rune run - making it easier to see, and RWM, runeword mod enables ladder only runewords, are also available to make you've playing more like bnet, but without the hassles. Likes to these are on Kwittstruck's siggy.
With trading you create a character or mule within ATMA, transfer the items you want to trade into it and email the mule to the other person. When you receive the trade back, you just open their mule in ATMA and move the items to where you want them. You must remember to delete the mule that you sent after the receiver gets it so the items are not duped, but wait until they say that the items came through.

ok weird.... when i move stuff to my stash on ATMA it still appears on my guy but if i reopen the character after ive saved and such its not there on ATMA screen...whats happening?
Do you have the game open at the same time? ATMA should be used when the game is not active.

- When using Atma you have to press "save and exit" in game, exit the game completely or go to windows with alt/tab.
- Open Atma.
- Now you can drag items from/to your stash to/from your char.
- Close Atma and go back to D2.
- Start your char. The changes should be visible now.

As long as you not in the game( You can be on the screen where it shows,"Single Player, B.Net, Other Multiplayer, Etc,") then it should work.

Fishymancer is a good MFer :)

Fishymancer is always pretty easy and fun. Your standard zealadin can tackle normal in SP pretty easily too. And a barbarian is the easiest I know of, because it takes so little thought for skill and stat points.
And I don't recommend a sorceress they are really tough on single player.
To level up faster, when in the game hit enter for the bar to appear and type in
/players 8
But you can put numbers 1 to 8 in that. It pretends as if you were online and had that many friends on with you, and levels up the enemies accordingly. It makes them tougher but levels you up faster. By Act 2 you could be at level 20 using this. Plus if you get stuck you'll still be at a higher level than normal so you could set it back to /players 1 and easily pass a tough area.

I'd suggest you to make a sorc (Meteorb, CL/Orb, ...) and not a fishymancer.
Let me explain why:
Teleport: Increases your MF speed soooooo much and lets face it, Enigma is not an option in SP especially if you've just started. The bosses you'll want to farm to get some good gear to start with are hell Andy and Meph. With a sorc you'll have Andy down before the Fishy has even summoned his army.

I agreed with Shallie. Stick to fishymancer if you do not have the essential Mfing gears for Meterorb.
However if you have the gears, go for Meteorb. She is faster.

05-13-2008, 07:03 AM
eh, i dont like meteorb much id go with fireball and frozen orb over meteor and orb, main reason is you can get close to the same damage, but one + to the weeker fireball, is no cast delay and by the time 1 meteor hits, you can fire off 5-6 fireballs easily, the only down side is fireball only hits 1 target and anything really close to it, where as meteor has a huge blast radius.
Skullcaptain
05-13-2008, 07:22 AM
A slight disadvantage or Meteorb is the casting rate of meteor. when you cast meteor, you have to wait for a while, also you can't cast frozen orb.
Whereas like my Coh_Melissa, an Orballer, she cast frozen orb and blast a few fireballs. You know, frozen orb slows them and harm them, fireball pushs them back slightly a bit (if your eyes are keen enough to notice that) and harm them as well.

err.. isn't an orballer and a meteorb practically the same?
afaik, a meteorb's primary skill is usually fireball. meteor's mainly used for mobs/bosses..

I'd agree on that.

I actually meant to go for a dual element sorc if he does not have any good gear yet. When you start the first thing you need are some decent uniques for your char(s) and the best way to get uniques is killing bosses. Teleport will speed up your MF runs so that's the reason to go for a sorc as your first MF char.
Fishymancers might be gear independent but without good gear they lack killing speed and their strength rather lies in clearing lvl 85 areas than in running single bosses.

Fishymancer actually does not need gear, He main attack will be his skellies and his Corspe Explosion. One Corpse is enough to tear down entire mob in just two or three castings..

ty for the advice...anymore is GREATLY accepted.
If only my ATMA would work...i have hero editor for testing purposes should i get rid of that? i mean no matter what the changes wont happen...

for ATMA problems, you can ask the experts here;
http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=532037
as for hero editor, if you're exclusively playing sp or pvm, get rid of it. pointless imo. running thru the game with the build will teach or give you more info on the strength/weakness of the build you're making..

you might wanna good wand and shield but you can find them. Its been proven that a fishymancer can beat the game naked.

For the statement that I posted above. I meant, that for fishymancer, you do not need to save up decent gears like uniques or sets for him. Everything, beside class-spesified items, suits him

Ahhh ok well my fishy never really took off lol... wasnt too crazy on him. After a week or so i got general game play down =P me and a few friends would sit around with a few comps (1 desktop 2 laptops) and play SP all at once just so we had ppl to talk to lol.

Sweet. I really want a laptop :) Stay in bed and play all the day :D Summoners are sometimes really funny to have in lvl85-areas.. Useful at pit, as ancient way, WSK and AT.
Skullcaptain

Wallen, not as easy as you think, sometime you need a mouse (mousepad won't help you much in leveling, farming), then you need to connect to power source because laptop battery won't last long, then you need a cooling pad, because your laptop gets hot when you play for long.

Well first of. The Mod you are talking about with more space in your chest is called: plugY, it's also allows you to do worldevent, like über-tristram and über-diablo, but it's not as difficult to beat them like at the realms.
A program you can make stashes, trade with people and just add over items from one char to another is called; ATMA. Search the google or here is a link; http://atma.diabloii.net/
Remember to dl the latest version or maybe it doesn't work with that version you are playing, like 1.12.

sp u wanna kno where to level up? Umm, I thought it helped just to fight through all levels of The Worldstone Keep again and again and again. That doesn't mean you have to fight Baal every time you do it though, you can stop before that point so you don't have to endure that last wave of enemies he sends at you
