I was just wondering,

When do moderators get nominated or chosen or whatever happens to get a moderator picked?

On most forums, the administrator will come to the persons he/she wants to moderate and will ask if they want the job.

Sometimes they get hired and come in a violate every business rule and change everything that is working just fine.

Sophist is an admin, n00b :p.

Generally there's a discussion in the mod forum, if the moderators are understaffed/whatever then there may or may not be a discussion as to whether any more are needed. If it is deemed that more are needed, then the fine specimens of the general membership are picked out and offered a position as a moderator. If they accept, then the admins flick the switches.

Hmm, yes, mods are desperatly needed ATM. Skullcaptain, TheDom, and Shin should be reinstated. If more mods are needed, then perhaps we'll have to start looking for new people.

But maybe they should give other people a chance? But I certainly agree that TheDominater was extremely great at being a Moderator. I'm not saying I didn't like Shin or SkullCaptain, they each were awesome and very friendly and thoughtful as to what they said and did for everyone, this site, and these forums.

DH and Orbit Hero, you must be high if you think the Admin will re-instate me. Don't know about Skull, but as for Shin...I haven't seen him on the new forums yet. I've been talking to him on XBox Live and he hasn't even mentioned them. Maybe he's finished with them? I'll have to ask him.

Oh, I realize that is is very unlikely that you will be reinstated, but you still [i]should[i] be. ;)

Anyways, if we do need to pick new mods, who do you think they should be?

Well, we already have one new mod.

3DS, some random I've never heard of....but, oh well.

He still needs prove himself imo.

BUT I WOULD PICK MYSELF, CLEARLY #1 MOD. LOL

So far 3DS has told me off for 'spamming' when I said that a lld warcry barb wouldn't work.


New mod (singular?) is trash compared to the old 3. Shin and tehDOM (yes, teh) were orsum, and while TBH I wasn't too enamoured of skullcaptain he's not a bad bloke, and I'd still like him as a mod.


But hey, around here the helpful posters get banned and various randoms who suck up to the admins get mod positions.

3DS was only doing his job and being helpful - he answered the question, period.

3DS was selected for this position for a reason, unknown to you as it may be. You do not need to know who we are, but you do need to respect us, as you need to respect everyone else on these boards. You are respectful, or you leave. It's simple. We are going to be adding more content and making additional changes and should be bringing more people to the moderating team as well. I suggest you reserve your judgement for later.
