Can you do direct IP connections with people outside of your network? Whenever I try to host a game, it gives me the "home" ip 192.168.1.2. I am wanting to play with my friend through IP so I dont have problems with annoying blizzard server lag.

Thanks

If you host you would have to give your ip address to your friend, when he joins the game will need that ip to tell his comp where the host is. Another way is with the program Hamachi. (creats a virtual network -LAN-) so the game thinks the computers are directly connected. In that case would use the ip address hamachi gives you. Its generally safer too. If you go Hamachi way, you both would need the program (only 1mb) and one of you would have to creat a network and give the network name and password(if pass protected) to the other. I understand that guys your friend. But if someone else found your ip address with ill intentions, could be a bad thing. (id take the ip address out of your question but thats just me)

Awesome, thanks a TON for that information!

The IP address in the question is an IP that is generally used on ALL networks, the 192.168.1.* denotes an individual computer on a network, not that computer's actual IP. :D

I will have my friend give this a go to see if it works out.
