I have this weird problem with diablo...
When I'm in fullscreen mode and host a multiplayer game i get delay on my mouse.. But in singleplayer its fine. I think this has to do with vertical sync but but i don't know...
Does anyone have this problem to?
I really need help with this because its very annoying.

I think that is just lag when you host becouse when u host for 10 seconds you can't use wp's and for me for 10 seconds after I can't talk to any npc's it relly depends on your computer I guess :D

You missunderstood me. Its not the game thats lagging its the mouse its "behind" in some way. When i move the mouse its not instant.. Its like it has trouble following my actual movement.
So its not some lag from hosting or internet lag or something else. Imagen that you have a spring attached to the pointer and when you drag it away it takes time before it moves and before it stops.
And i know that vertical-sync can have a effect on this in other games...
So please help! :D
You can try yourself to go to network and host a SP game and check it out. And its not just me, My friends have this to.

I doesn't make sense that vertical synch would be causing this. Video settings work regardless of single or multiplayer modes. It doesn't switch.
When you are in multiplayer, however, your system is working harder. It is running the game on your system and in constant communication to any other machine that is connected. The slower any connected machine is, the slower the multiplayer session will be.
I have not experienced your issue before, and this is the first I have heard of it. You neglected to include your system specs, so it becomes real hard to just diagnose. I can suggest that the mouse lag is created by a slower unit on the network, if not your machines inability to actually host the game.
Also, the network connection will affect the performance. If you have a state of the art gaming thumper and an old school dial up connection, you will experience game performance issues.
*Be sure your system meets the recommended requirements to run the game.
*Be sure any system connected to your network, also meets these requirements.
*Run the game in Direct Draw mode. It wont have to render so much and free up resources that can be used elsewhere.
*Be sure you have no programs running in the background. Anti virus software is notorious for hijacking any incoming packets and scanning them as if they actually stop a virus.
Just some suggestions for you to check into. Hope it helps.
Good Luck

hmm.. Its when I'm hosting a game to, and no one has joined :\
AND when I'm hosting a game in windowed mode its just fine, So it is some option. And it has something to do with multiplayer. Because its just in Multiplayer and not SP.
And we are 3 friends that have the same problem. We all have different systems and different installs. I'm using vista, and the other 2 are using xp.
The computer should have no problems rendering it, some specs:
CPU: Intel E6750 @ 3400mhz 1.35v
Graphics: EVGA 8800GTS 650/1000
RAM: Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 2GB
HDD: WD AAKS 500GB
And we all have different computer components :(
Edit: When i typed /fps in diablo 2 I noticed that it runs in directdraw mode. But in windowed it does not run in directdraw. How can i disable directdraw and use something else?

Vista is you problem, my friend. Forgive me for not mentioning it.
If you switch your rendering mode to Direct draw that will help, but not solve everything.
Here is a link (http://www.diablo2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=269) that will tell you how and can help you with some of your issues. There is also a section regarding Vista, albeit, brief. Check it out and good luck.

To get diablo2 to work on vista you just use the "Disable desktop composition" and vista does not seem to be my problem. It did use direct draw already :\
And the problem remains...
I'm getting tired of this!
I'm wondering it can have something to do with that i don't have reinstalled diablo since i formated my computer. Maybe its some regkey thats missing and when i host a multiplayergame it some how does not use the right settings and cause some problems. I have xp and vista on this computer so im going to try it again with xp. But the other mates i told about uses xp and have the same problem :\
Edit: Nope it dint work... same problem with xp and after reinstalling. :\
