I heard that if you use poison charms on your bowazon that it messes up your critical strike. That one cancels out the other or something.

Is this true?

Why hound someone for asking a question on an information forum?

Give the kid a break, we all are not as versed as you in Diablo2 info.

You too once asked questions as a beginner, everyone has to start somewhere.

WOW! On the the 1st 2 answers.... Thanks for nothing guys.

Now, how about an answer from someone that would actually like to help. If you would like to help, explain why adding 1.7k worth of poison damage is "dumb". If in fact, it doesn't mess with cs.

F.Y.I. before I asked I did google it and got nothing. I did search this forum and found nothing about it. Did I search the forum post by post? NO!! I do have a life outside of Diablo. And no, I do not pay attention to anything flamers tell me to do. As such, any future flaming will be disregarded completely. So don't waste your time or mine.

It dont mess with cs at all,
However depending on the zon, you can benifit more from dex and skill charms cause the dex gives you enhanced damage and skills, well just adds skills, Poison charms are kind of as they said stupid in a way. You get the same damage with using other charms easily, and wont have to worry about "timed damage" that someone can use antidote on. i would want to do immediat damage then try to poison the enimy to death and heres why. 1, with poison you have to still hit them 1 more time to make the kill. as a zon with the right skills/stats/equip, 2-3 hits should be more then nuff to kill anyone or anything. 2, Again i hate timed damage, it dont take frames in consideratoin, its seconds. The more seconds the less damage per second.
3. By the time someone is poisoned for 3-4 seconds yes you can hit them 1 maybe 2 times killing them otherwise. I hope this helps.

Yes, it does. Thanks. I should have mentioned that I only play PvM. I think the poison helps a lil bit more in PvM. But I see your point. I'll trade most of my poisons then, and try to get more dex and max dmg charms. I'll keep a couple of the higher poisons just get em infected....LOL

Appreciate the help.:)

Considering that all I had to do to find the same question answered here was to search for "poison" and "critical strike," the fact that it is listed in Ernir's Things's thread that has answered the most common questions for everybody, and lastly that you can GOOGLE the problem to find a solution, I do believe that idiot is perfectly appropriate.

So what is your problem? I got on a forum that exists to help people. I asked for help. Now I'm an idiot? It's people like you that ruin not only forums, but also the game experience in general. Don't worry, this will be my last post on this forum. If I can't get help here, without being insulted, then it's not worth the bother. So good luck in life. Your gonna need it.

Then this is just a message for the other people who continue to post here: do a little bit of work before asking others to do it for you. The real issue is that even if the people with the answers don't have lives they don't want to spend time answering things that are easy enough to find.

@sinister
fyi, ven did answer your question. unfortunately you interpreted it the wrong way.

no disrespect to your question, but it is one of the more common/ridiculous myths of d2, so it would not be unusual for the more experienced players to scoff at it. still it was answered. just take it with a pinch of salt..

No one has a gun to your head bro.

YOU took the time to respond. If it was "a waste of time" to answer someones question...why did you?

And did you happen to notice how many threads are on this site?

Grow up.

You did google the question? Funny that the first hit turned up the correct answer (even if it was at the gamespot forums).

We respond to the question in the hope that the poster might actually use some initiative before asking away the next time around. Apparently asking someone to do that earns you a warn around here, depending on your status with respect to a certain moderator.

While I didn't answer the question, that was because ven already had.

You know, if "google" is all you guys have to say when we want something answered, then we dont need this forum, this site, or the likes of you so called members. I got the impression that forums, like this, is a great source of info also. But to the guys who claim to be here the longest, feel as though they dont need to answer them. Sure you seen these types of questions over and over but is the "omg" really necessary? Is it so much for you that you cant answer it again? Oh wow your highness, pls i beg for your forgiveness... Actually, take all the d2 knowledge you possess and shove it. I dont see the point in you IDIOTS hanging around here if you dont plan to actually take the time to explain the mechanics of the game...

i think you need to chill out man. if you don't want to help someone, why are you reading posts in which someone is asking for help? maybe you should spend more time playing the game, because it seems that every post you've made, at least on this thread, has pissed someone off. it wasn't even my post you were replying to and i was offended.

oops......next time i'll read all of the posts b-4 responding

I answered the question and explained the game mechanics in the first post. I prayed in that post as well, and you people took it way too far out of context.

The man catches on!!!

I am sorry, I responded to the laziness of the OP. Most forums have all kinds of disclaimers about hunting for information before just throwing posts out there.

It still dont hurt to just vulinteer some info without making them feel insulted. Besides maybe he did google it, often times i google something and guess where it leads me, Right here to the d2 forum, however sometimes it isnt relevant to what im wanting to know. Maybe he did google and got to this forum. Anyway, thats 1 less member we will have now becaue of some seemingly rude replies.

Those disclaimers dont mean squat. Its inevidable that repeated topics will appear. Gotta remember that not all people are mechanically inclined when visiting a forum. These people just want to get a simple answer. Its hard to believe that some would huff and puff because why? they gotta answer it again? Come on really, you as the community of this particular forum have the knowlege and the technical expertise to answer their questions. Ever heard of the term "shadow of the leader"? Keep replying like you normally do an others will do the same. Cause to them, it may seem right. Being a bit more insightful/or rather elaborate the question will get others to do the same. Im pretty sure youre a cool guy and you meant well. Just wasnt what the OP expected...

As much as many people wish, we're not robots who choose to answer literally every inane question that someone thinks up. Some guy came around a while ago and sprouted literally 4 or 5 threads a day (at least) in each asking some inane question (along the lines of "how much IAS do I need with xx weapon for xx skill for xx fpa, long after we'd given him the link to the german IAS calc) he could find in 10 seconds on google, saying that he'd prefer if we spent time looking the same thing up for him. If the OP is posting simple because he/she/it is lazy, then I'll refer them to my sig.

A legitimate question on mechanics that someone can't find/doesn't understand, great. Let's all start a merry discussion, if no-one has delved into the area before (it still exists, most recent example I can think of is strafe speed testing ~a month ago), let's go test some game mechanics.

Is this true?

No its not true, but the visual effect that comes when u make a critical strike you wont be able to see.... but the critical strike itself will come.

Anyone who says anything else, havent got their facts straight.

the one thing that poison dmg would be gfg for would be for es sorcs, as poison bypasses es and does dmg straight to life.

Perhaps if you were using poison skills on switch it might be worth it for ES sorcs, but added poison damage to a bowazon is relatively worthless.
