No sound

Okay, so after reinstalling Diablo 2 a few times. I still have no sound, i have music, but no sound.(i cant here when my guy hits or any auras) I went in options and the sound is full blast for diablo. Anyone knwo how to fix this??

Ive got a simular problem but its only with LOD. acts 1-4 all is fine, act 5, i got nothing, i can hear the aura, the hits, the kills. but i cant hear any voice from cain or anyone else in act 5, but not only that, the text dont come up either. so i just compleated normal mode LOD for the first time ever (just got lod) but i must say it wasnt the easiest without knowing what im doing at all with only the quest book giving "basic info"

well. control m doesen't work but thanks anyways, i think its just my computer. Ill find someone to reformat it later on. And also for me its all acts no sound at all, i cant even here the NPC's talk:( its really quite annoying.

Put the sound up there, that's probably your problem. You can also select whether you want to hear only audio from npcs, only text, or both.

ive already try'd sound was already way up and npcs set to audio and tex:(

I can hear it all the way up to act 4 the way its supposed to be, act 5 (LOD) i got nothing, no music, text, speach, but i get full battle and aura sounds an such. Its not my personal settings or it would affect the whole game, not just 1 single act.

For you instead of maybe doin a full install, the music is on a musid.mpq or something like that,try copying that off the disk and placing it in your d2 folder, though im not sure exactly where it belongs myself but it might just work for ya, and that may be true for the rest of your audio.

I'm not sure what kind of comp you are on, but check the actual system preferences. There might be a "Game Sound" option that you might have to manually enable for D2.

My friend had a similar problem, and that's all he did.

it also maybe the way u have your computer surround sound set. I know different settings change everything. Also look a surround sound levels.

where would i find this 'game sound' option?
