I have a question about this as well when I put in /player 8 I am not finding a difference. Is there a way of finding out if it is on? Also when you leave the game and come back in do you need to redo it? Lastly do you need to hit enter and put it in or just type it?
If you can help, thanks

You will notice the diference when the monsters are hard to kill, and give more experience to you.

type it, hit enter. once it's done there'll be a message saying
players is set to x
and this is reflected in the message log.

/players8 Is the right command! Then it will say: players set to 8 If you've done it right!

Nope you don't need to type the command every time you join the game. The setting stays as long as you don't quit the game and return to windows.

By the way, beside HP increment, does those monster become smarter or hit harder?

Certainly not smarter, but they do hit a bit harder in NM and Hell. Though its not an increase of 50% of P1 like HP and Exp, I think its only a 5-10% increase.

I was wondering that too... And found out that you don't have to write it every time, but I didn't know when it stopped! So what if you change char? Will it also be in /players8?

yes i think so, as long as you use the same client.

Yep it stays even if you change to another char. Just quitting to windows will reset it.

It has happened to me before when playing SP: When i type Players 8, it takes a little while for it to actually work.
At first i though you had to wait until the message that appears, dissapears, and then the difficulty change took affect. But sometimes it took even longer.
I`m pretty sure about this.
Also sometimes, if i typed Players 8 in the "previous game", the effect lasted over to a new game. I am pretty sure about that too.

Hmm it is still not working if you could make a step by step list of what to do and Exactly what to do. I am sorry for my stupididty but I cannot get the message to come up. I am playing Sp 1.11b with ATMA and RWM/RRM.

Step 1, turn on the computer..... kidding
in game open your character
when it loads and your in town
1 Hit enter
2 type this exactly /players 8 with no space after the 8 (thats to simulate 8 players, you can use 1-8)
3 Hit enter and you should see the messege come up saying Players set to 8.
Thats all. if it isnt working like that then theres something else wrong.

why do i have an impression that you get more XP with /players1 than with 8? Or am I wrong? Maybe its just me LOL

^^its the other way around. p8 is to simulate playing in a 8 player environment, so of course you'll get more xp/drops etc =)

i dont understand why someone would have a hard time grasping 3 simple steps. I mean it's just logic right, that if the game is set for 8 players but the other 7 dont exist to receive exp., that those exp points would go to the only available player to receive them.
