Hi all, as i said in my "new member" thread i bought diablo 2 best sellers
few monthes ago so i got D2 and D2 LOD too....
All works fine in tcp/ip or one player, game sound cinematics etc.......
But when i try going on Bnet (open or closed and via each portal uswest europe etc...) it starts checking version and downloading update, i know
it's the bnet auto update to 1.11b because mine is 1.07, but after it has finished downloading the update game suddenyl closes.....i tried many
issues as rebooting, re-installing game with or without LOD, patching it
manually with files on blizzard support site etc.....(oop tlaking about this when i download for example D2LOD 1.11b patch and install it i never saw
what was patched instead the fact that it creates a few txt files as patch.txt
and prepatch.log....these files seem to be prepatch and not "patch"...).
I never resolved my problem, can't even log on or see a bnet screen
because game automatically closes on bnet checkin and updating versions....
even if i patched it myself....I'm really starting losing confidence into this and
i'm thinking about the fact that i will never be able to play online....
ooo i forgot here is a LAN at home (my father's connexion) we got a router
and unique LAN IP for each comp.....thats why i managed playing tcp/ip with
my brothers but instead diablo 2 lod i never had problem with another
game going online...can someone help me please ?

Sometimes the routers acn cause issues, I dont normally advise it but with a router, try to test it without the firewalls on. Playing on a lan and playing on bnet are 2 different things. on lan your computer already sees the other computers and allows access, on bnet its probably new to the comp and sending/recieving data via bnet migh be blocked somehow. Thats all i have, maybe someone else can suggest something more.

Try this I posted somewhere else on this site
Ya sounds like a router problem to me, try to set your router to open shared. Can you surf the net fine? you could have ports closed that you need open which you can change on your router setting screen as well. TCP Port 6112 and Port 4000 should be open. Some firewall programs have preset ports available in their configurations that are often necessary to be open. One is a connection to your DNS server. This takes place on UDP port 53. Go to this link for more information on how to open the appropriate ports for your proxy or firewall:
