Im simply going to list some things that happen regularly in Diablo II and give you some solutions.

=CD-Key Already Being Used by Yourself=

-Causes-

~Quickly logging on and off of games
~Dropping out due to lag
~Attempting Multiple Logins
~Using Hacks
~Battle.net Lags

-Solution-

~Wait 5 minutes and try again
~If the first 5 minutes dont change anything, wait 1 hour
~If waiting one hour doesnt work wait till tomorrow

-Reasons-

~You have been Temp-Banned, this can be any of the following lengths: 5 mins, 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hour, 2 weeks, 1 month

=Randomly Flashing Menu Turning Black=

-Causes-

~Slow connection speed
~Too high detail graphics
~BNET Latency
~Corrupt d2glide.dll, d2gfx.dll, d2gdi.dll, d2direct3d.dll, d2ddraw.dll

-Solution-

~Dont leave other internet using programs on ( Internet Explorer, MSN, Etc. )
~Remove Perspective, 800X600 Res, no Sound
~Not much you can do about BNET Latency
~Download the .dll files from a trusted site, or copy from cd directly

-Reason-

~sometimes a nick or scratch or dust on your cd can corrupt files and you wont notice until it makes a glitch

=Black Wall Of Death=

Note: For those of you who dont know (this is mainly found with slow connections) its when your connection stops, and you run until you hit Black, you cant move after hitting it and usually drop out or recover

-Causes-

~Lag, plain and simple, you lagged
~Rarely, latency can cause this

-Solution-

~Dont leave ANY internet using progs on (IE, MSN, Yahoo, Etc)

-Reason-

~Cant send data with no connection
~BNET added this as a safegaurd against lag causing lag, by stopping movement

=Click Delays=

-Cause-

~Distance from server
~Connection Speed
~Bad Graphics

-Solution-
~Change server, if you live in the Eastern Hemisphere change to Asia or Europe
~Change server, if you live in the Western Hemisphere change to US-E/W
Note: If you can handle 0.5-1 second click delay, then go for US-W/E, they are the most reliable servers and have ALOT more English Speaking players.
~Check you have sufficient Graphics Memory to handle your detail settings

-Reasons-

~Your Distance and location from a server matters alot, if you have bad telephone poles around your area that arent regularly serviced, not much you can do.
~Servers DO matter, the fact is East is more reliable than West, but is more laggy from players, West is faster than East but is less reliable, Europe is slower AND Laggier than East and West unless you live within 500km or Central Europe, and Asia is laggy and Slow unless you live in Australasia ( New Zealand, Asian, Indonesia, Australia ( sometimes India and Middle East ) )


=Battle.Net tells you your Diablo 2 version is invalid=



Heres is what i do with invalid problems,

Download this:http://www.cruelsociety.net/d2pk/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=4

Its a 1.10 revert patch, extract all the stuff in there to your Diablo 2 folder:
"C:/Program Files/Diablo II/"
and overwrite everything.

Then Download and run this: http://www.filefactory.com/file/ef4de0/

This is a safe patch, it makes your Diablo 2 game version 1.11, one minor update BEFORE 1.11b, this is one of the safest Patches around, and it usually work every time. Sorry, but i had to upload, this patch died a while ago as new 1.10 mods came out, and this particular version of 1.11 was not needed.

temp ban lasting for 2 weeks or a month?:eek:

i have heard the most for a temp ban was 72 hours unless you keep trying to get on which is said to extend the time it takes before you are unbanned. or maybe the info i have seen is inaccurate.

the last 2, 2 weeks and 1 month are average times for hackers.

if Warden ( BNET's hack detection ) thinks your using hacks, you get around 2 weeks, if the knows your using hacks, he gives you around 1 month.

hmm. if thats they case i would think you would get exactly 2 weeks and 1 month. i know 1 month is a first time warning for using hacks. at least thats what people say.

your right there, and they penalise you for trying to log in aswell, its about 1 day per attempt, but sometimes it doesnt do anything.

I hate hackers too, they ruin the game, but i dislike Warden, as warden makes quite a few mistakes.

hi, i can't join battlenet? what must i do.. must i create an acount? or i don't know here's the message i recive when trying to join battlenet : battlenet is unable to properly verify your aplication version. please guys .. just help me out here,i have installed the latest patch 1.11b .. and i still don't know what to do,by the way my diablo2 lotr is not original. 10x

whats do you mean? do you mean you have lod ( not lotr ), not just the original?

If that is the error you are receiving, then you are running a cracked version of the game. Either a "fixed exe" or a "no CD" version. If you are running the game from a copied CD, then you have to have a "fixed exe" to play. You can run in SP, but not on the realms.

You need to use a legitimate CD to play the realms.

to explain 10x means thanks :D and i have a fake diablo 2 expansion,so i figured that's the problem so i just ordered an original diablo 2 and the expension set. hope it will work now on battle net

I have always played straight--why can't battlenet cut off those pps who use hacks..Its not fair that you cant have a honest duel without some bone head hacking the S out of ya...Come on programer brainiacs...

Bnet does catch them. You hear all the time people loosing their accounts on these forums. Stick around you'll see.

The problem is that Bnet can't ban them fast enough. Cheating will always be a part of the game.

actually there is a multi player workaround, you use command line edits on a shortcut and it bypasses the game check, this was originally used to get multiple logins.

But this caused alot of bannings.

Chances are you have a crap fake of Diablo II, you never know if they are 1:1 's or not, some people just compress the contents of a disk to rar and ge a rar to iso, these never work and are just a big hassle for the maker AND user.
