Im basically running a mancer with skeleton and skel mastery, some revive, then poison nova as well as explosion for synergy, then the usual curses and others. looking for sugestions on equipment all around. FCR is nice but not entirly needed. FHR is in demand, as well as any + to all skills and reistances.
THIS IS CLASSIC PLAY so theres a lot there that i dont have access too. Anything would be of help, please if possible list mods with items as well.
thanks

Helm: Wormskull
Wand:Gravenspine, Ume's Lament
Shield:The Ward, Swordback Hold
Armor: Silks of the victor
Gloves: Frostburn, Magefist (good for CE)
Boots: Tearhaunch, Goblintoe
Belt: Bladebuckle
Ammy: +2 necro ammy with useful mods
Rings: SoJ, Manald Heal
a good set, though it is low lvl would be : Infernal Tools (necro set)

Thanks there Dark. i think i got both those shields, i know i have ward but that swordback seems really familiar. If i recall causes some damage to attacker and prevents monster heal? those wonds i think i need to get higher levels. silks never heard of, those gloves havnt found yet and the rest havnt found as of yet, mandel heal not seen but i do have manald heal.

yeah the swordback hold is an old offensive spiked shield for pallys back in classic days. it gives like 50% chance open wounds and massive attack takes damage. Silks of the victor is like the best armor from classic, and the only one that can give +1 all skills, its an ancient armor with a str req of 100. back in classic, pre 1.09 you could gamble for it. and i was refering to manald heal, just mispelled it :P

I agree on setup with DarkPrinceLoki - however for example Silks are rather expensive (if you play on bnet)/hard to find (if you play sp) and maybe not really needed (mostly used for +1 skills). Not to mention its high strength requirements! (100 str on a necro???) If you need FHR and a better blocking, you could use Twitchthroe, it's very popular for casters - see it's stats. :D
Defense: 57-60 (varies)(Base Defense: 32-35)
Required Level: 16
Required Strength: 27
Durability: 32
+25 Defense
25% Increase chance of blocking*
20% Faster Hit Recovery
20% Increased Attack Speed
+10 To Dexterity
+10 To Strength
Bladebuckle belt will to provide you with FHR as well, however requires 60 str. For a shield another very popular option is a tower (but also higher strength requirements. again.) socketed with pdiamonds. May get you better res than Ward (depends on what Ward you have, and if you can socket it...). Together with Twitch it will provide you with a good block. :D And Twitch will give you +10 str so maybe you could try it. For a wand - you don't necessarily need a unique, good +2 wand with other useful skills and/or mods (res for example, or maybe mana) could be good too. Rares have generally great potential to be godly or at least better than most uniques.
Summoner shouldn't be hit too much anyway - it's better to hide behind your army, though it's sometimes not that easy. I know it. Is it in single player? What level is the necro? Lol, I love necros <3, both classic and xpac and I'm making a similar guy on classic right now so I'm just curious.

i dont think a poison and summon nec would work..... also as for armor id reccomend blink bats form if it didnt get patched out. also since you dont need much fcr since your poison get some dual res str rings easy if they are not lighting fire since the cost quite alot. or get 2 manalds for regen . try to find lenymo for more mana regen.

Your kidding right? Summoners can easily solo all of Hell dificulty, even if the necro is wearing NO Equipment. Classic or Expansion, Period.

Here is a few choices:
Lenymo- regenerate mana 30%, 5 all res, & +15 mana
Nightsmoke- 50% damage goes to mana, +20 mana, & +10 res all
Death's Guard- cannot be frozen

These things does exist in Classic 1.11?

The ward and Swordback does ive seen them, Manald heal i have 2x of and SoJ ive seen in classic guides, wormskull not sure, Gravenspine not sure, umes lament not sure of, nor the frostburn or magefists, i do have goblintoe on atma so that exists havnt seen the tearhaunch yet or bladebuckle. im sure the amulet exists but i just havnt gotten that high up in lvl yet.
For those interested, Im soloing hell in SP not on bnet. Sitting at LVL 60 and having no troubles. Skeletons hardly ever die, NM cows are too easy... and my summon tree is built where i want it. I might add another point or 2 into resist and revive, but thats about all. As far as the poison/summon is concerned, scratch the mages, 1 pt pre, save 19 points that wont be very good in hell anyway. 20 pts into nova and just 10 into poison explosion lets nova deal almost good dmg in 2 seconds. I am planning on maxing both those poison skills. It's real nice to build up an army cause they dont stay when game shuts down or you move across acts. so poison and run, repeat. Also, poison is a bit of backup for physical immunities. Trust me i am using CE. so theres simularities to the fishymancer, but using some poison instead of some other skills. the necro in my signature is a new HC I just started, typical fishy. not the one as described above. but BOTH are doing Great.

Heh ill have to take your word for it for now ;) im sure they do anyway cause ive seen half of it... unfortunatly my atma corruped my items file and i lost a good ammount of gear. some of which was mentioned here... Oh well ill get it back. nothing a lvl 60 with 200% magic find cant do. Hes found it once, can find it again.
