I think that is a CD issue, not your computer. More than likley, your CD is scratched or damaged, or just gooed up in the area of that file.
I would suggest you clean the CD if it's dirty. If it is scratched, you can try to copy the disk over to you hard drive, but don't expect too much. If it does copy over sucessfully, you can burn it onto a CDRW then use the factory disk to play.

Make sure all the Diablo 2 entries are removed from the registry.
Click on Start then choose Run.
In the Run box, type the word "regedit" (without the quotes) and press OK. This will launch the Registry Editor.
Click on the + icon beside the "HKey_Local_Machine" folder. Some folders will appear underneath it. One should be called "Software".
Click on the + icon beside the "Software" folder.
In the folders that appear under "Software", Select the "Battle.net" folder and delete it.
Click on the - icon beside the "HKey_Local_Machine" folder. This will collapse the folders underneath it.
Click on the + icon beside the "HKey_Current_User" folder.
Under that, click on the + icon beside the "Software" folder.
In the folders that appear under "Software", Select the "Battle.net" folder and delete it.
See if that helps.

if that dont work and cleaning the disk doesnt work, on thing i did, is a lint free cloth, and a dab of tooth paist, the polish in it fills minor scratches on a normal cd, i wouldnt recomend it on a dvd though, but if the disk isnt wrokin at all its worth a shot
