Lower Kurast runs?

How do I go about performing a Kurast run? I heard thats a good way to get runes.

first, go to hell act 3 preferably with a teleporting character.

next, in LK, find bonfires (usually indicated by a white/grey reverse L shape in the map). the map can spawn with either one or two bonfires. the more, the better.

then, there are two houses on the 11 o'clock and 2 o'clock of the bonfire. there are chests within them. these are the "special chests" that you open to find those runes. as mentioned, more bonfires = more chests to open = more chance to get that runes.

iirc, do this in /players 7 or 8 if you want to get surs/bers. other player settings can net you other types of runes such as Lo (/players 3 or 4), vex, ohm etc..

If you are only after higher runes the four superchests are the way to go, but you can pick up heaps of gems, jewels and charms, and the occasional set/unique items too, by doing full clears. With a TPing character you don't need to kill a thing.

if you're lucky there's another bonfire in the lk map.. doubling the number of superchests..

To my knowledge, the answer would be yes. The higher the /players, the more liklihood of higher runes.

don't hold your breath.. the chances are much much lower.. less than 0.1% maybe? maybe more.. =P

At P8 you can find Vex, Sur, and Ber, each with a chance of ~1/65K. If you have a map with 2 fires, that means 1/11K runs.

So, it about 1/4000 chance of finding an HR on a single LK run.

It doesn't matter what /p setting I'm on, I've never done better than a Mal in LK. One day.......

Some people take years for a Sur, some people take only hours for one.

I can just advise you not to go for a certain item. Maybe you're lucky and will find it but chances are higher that you'll just get frustrated. I farmed LK for charms, jewels, gems and runes and after 4-5 hours suddenly a Ber rune dropped.

Well, the game engine may somehow read your mind. It gives you want that will surprised you and enlightened you up when you least expected it ;)

just kill monsters, or you can get a character to hell mode and do lower kurast runs.

but i'm sure you get some rune on lower kurast on normal and nightmare too, never tested though.
