View Full Version : Frozen Nova/orb sorc?

I love frozen nova, although its a mana leach, but i had a lvl 60(?) cold sorc with max orb and ice bolt, was working on cm, then put some extra points into nova for fun... i realized how much i love it and it did pretty decent damage... Any suggestions for a FN/combo sorc?

FN isnt useful enough to use as a killer, but it can be used as a backup skill, but i dont see any point in going beyond 1 pt in FN since you would only need it for the freeze effect. I LOVE when I become lvl 6 with a sorc. FN is really effective at chilling large groups of monsters. :)

EDIT: It can kill, but with 8 players in game it will be somewhat ineffective. Since it requires two synergies it is hard to have a backup skill of another element since you need 20 FN, 20 Blizzard, 20 FORB and prolly 20 in CM.

The best combo with FN is FOrb, but there are alot of cold immunes in the game so I wouldnt suggest a FN/FOrb sorc.

FN/FW? then 10 in each mastery? lol.. nova does its job though.... freezes, quite a bit of damage, then i can also use blizzard/orb in case of emergency...
donno... i like the unque builds...

What would you tactics be? Get close, cast FN, walk back cast FW? Sounds like alot of work when there are much better options. If you dont focus on cold dmg gear FN wont do enough dmg.

If you only want to use FN for the freeze effect why not settle with one point? If you have enough +skills to get it to, lets say, lvl 15 it will freeze for 22 seconds. If you cant manage to kill a monster within 22 sec you are seriously screwed.

If you like unique builds then why not jst make it and ignore other peoples opinion? Seems like you just made this thread just to make it. Like you did with several other threads...

I'm making the thread for oppinions.. the negative ones help me make my char better... but i will still make the character(s) you think i'm not going to but just want a hieghtened post count.. Thanks again for people putting ideas/words into my head/mouth.. I will still do it.. but with the negative comes the positive..
