Hardcore dieing off?

I know the trade values for softcore ladder very well but I'm not sure if the trade values are roughly the same for HC.

One major issue playing HC is that there are very few public games and this certainly doesn't promote public trading at all. I find it very hard to trade for what I need. I'm not sure whether it's because there aren't many people playing on the HC realm or the fact that due to player's characters death on a regular basis causing scarce resources available.

Is playing on HC nowadays means solo gaming in private games so you won't feel like an idiot if you got "TPPK'ed". But one will need to make public trading at some point in hardcore, I wonder how will the one be able to make a successful trade with current issues considered as metioned earlier. Not forget to mention how great this community is and there is a trading forum section dedicated to Hardcore players. However, it's the same problem even in here. My thread created in the HC trading forum awhile ago is still appeared near the top of the page with only a few views and no replies yet. HC trading forum is barely moving, even with all realms combined and it's not divided up into sub-forums for each different realms like the regular trading forums. The situation of how my thread turns out is similar to many other threads posted in the HC trading forum.

Because of the long dreaded 1.12 patch in the current ladder, I came back playing only on HC USEast realm after long 2-3 year break. I can say i'm extremely wealthy in the softcore realm by the time I stopped playing, but so are many other players by now. The wealth among many players and abundant amount of items plus dupped high runes available are the main reasons that's driving inflation in currency so high that I'm feeling sick of continue playing in softcore. So I resort to only playing hardcore.

Do you have an insightful opinion or a constructive suggestion on this topic? Please post what you think here.

Not true. I still play HC. I still really enjoy it. Until the ladder reset, and even after it does, I'll be playing HC.

As for HC trading, it's really hard now a days to be able to even trust anyone to not scam you in either SC or HC. As for being TPPK'd, it'll only happen if you go out of town, so I think that the most likely explination would be some people just get killed off and don't acumilate the gear or other items to effectively trade. And if they do have extra gear, like me, they may hold onto it in a just in case scenario.

But, too bad you're on East. I would trade with you if you had what I needed and vise-versa.

I do know there's ppl playing on hardcore, there's just fewer of them. I thought about it, but maybe in the future...

I was hesitant for a while too. then I thought "what the hell, what's the worst that could happen?". Being TPPK'd is probably the worst thing that could happen. Especially if you have a char that is pretty high up there. When I have one die off, I usually have a moment of silence, say a few nice words, and delete it's corpse from my char list.

I do have a load of respect for those who have chars up in the 70's and higher. Especially if they played legit.

Well. I play 100% Legit. And I am actually looking for some buddies to train on some hardcore with. We could make new toons. Play with not so high toons. Or we can play with sime high level toons. I always play private servers. So its basically single player with added lag spikes.

But I was looking for some people to play some hardcore with. I would love to have some hardcore friends

@davfmy, That's one thing I like about the clan I'm in. There are a bunch of us that have been playing HC, and will after the patch is out, if ever it is. We play on bnet, but private games. We let eachother loot one another just in case of the worst. I've saved more HC gear that way. They're the only ones I trust not to TPPK me.

Hey I have been looking for a Hardcore Clan to play with on US East servers. Ive actually never TPPK'ed anybody. I love to play PvM. Thats how are my toons are.

Would there be any possible chance I can get in this group? I would love that.
I love playing Hardcore, I'm a Legit Player. I use no 3rd party program. I love to play any type of games Legit. No cheats. Like I beat all the Grand Theft Auto series without using any cheat on any one of them. Beat them from mission one to final mission Legit. That's how i play. That's how you get really good at games.

But message me on Battle.net if you wanna play some time. And ya I only play private server games. Just like playing single player cause I don't have anybody to play with and I don't trust just anybody on Battle.net.

But ya boss, I'm just looking for some Legit PvM Hardcore buddies to do some old fashion old school tomb running with. Sharing drops and everything like that. I also allow to loot corpse on mine once I get used to playing with ya for awhile.

Unfortunately, we're on UsWest. We do support HC, SC lad and non-lad. It's good that you don't use cheats. We don't support 3rd party programs.

@Taur, Good luck with your toon in HC. Yeah, stick to private games on bnet. That's the best way to ensure your own "safety".

aahh.. well when diablo 3 comes out.. I know im going to be running some hardcore mode on there. We can all run threw it together..well ima beat it first on softcore...then go hardcore. I love hardcore. Its just losing all my level 80+ charectors that suck

This is why I don't want to do Hardcore. For some reason, the diablo II code, or bnet for diablo II has lag spikes and disconnects for me. No other game is so unstable for me. In fact, no game I play has this problem. I'm not worried about TPPK as much as bnet PK by lag spikes and disconnects.

I love playing hardcore i found out, but it's quite slow. You have to be slow and steady and on your toes. So it's been quiet with my bowzon for a little while now.
