Hey everyone, I would just like to know "Roughly" what the best PVM Class is. I play Closed Bnet but prefer solo / 1 other. (No Big partys or anything). Could someone please direct me to what would be best to be? Thanks

hammerdin is a really nice pvm killer , you can get it so you have max block / 4k life with bo and 14k dmg really easy :P

the only hard part is getting used to it.

Socs are good for MP
Paladins for partys
Hot strippers are good for parties too

Rest I don't like

I will recommend you to the Hammerdin.

Excellent at everything you throw in its path.

Damage cannot be blocked or absorbed in any way except for a few Act 3 creatures that you may never come across.

If you're starting with nothing a Fishymancer, summoning necro with CE, is a good start but boring as hell. If you don't care about completing your first character and you're looking to get equipment for better characters to use, a blizzard sorc would be great, she'll blitz hell Meph.

I say Hammerdin or Blizz Sorc.

If you ghonna start a mf-career, the best choice is a pure blizzer and for later when you have some gear, a pure lightsoso or a hmdin with enigma :) "Enigma is really hard to get"

Hammerdin is the best imo, but I like Summoners too, as you can stay back and rest while your skeletons/revives kill everything (I prefer Summoner sometimes, as they are as good with one hand as two hands, so you can drink while play, and to get Hamers max dmg you need to have aura up, which mean you must target an enemy or hold down Shift to use hammers. (I know you already know this but I'm writing this as i don't have anything else to do!))

Yup, the summoner aka fishymancer is the cheapest build. Hmdin with eni is the most expensive.

I say smiters because a well buit one is quite unkillable. Charge is a very good advantage against ranged attackers, and with smite you can easily handle monsters when you are surrounded. It is true that lightning sorc has the greatest damage over Battle.net, but it also has a low defence and block rating, as different from a paladin. On the other hand, paladins have auras which make him very useful in a party.
My second choice would be a hmmerdin, perfect for PvM (smiters are better for PvP); hammer and concentration rock on agains the hordes of Diablo as the b. hammer ignores rezistances and immunities (undead take 150% extra damage)-and this is what make out of a pala a true war tank.

In that way, a zealer is abit faster! ;)

paladin hands down. i dont feel like repeating everything other ppl have already said so ill just leave it at them being the most versitile chars in the game. as far as lite sorcs having the most dmg, lite sorcs suck mainly because of the 1-1k+ dmg they do. ive built many lite sorcs and deleted them all cuz of the chance they will do next no no dmg on alot of hits.

As mentioned, the paladin is very good, but I would also recommend the amazon. Either a bowazon or a javazon (as opposed to a spear, sword, or axe using amazon) would be my suggestion. She is an excellent character, and is fairly straightforward, with lots of synergies (skills that add bonuses to other skills). The paladin can be very confusing if he is your first character (I've been playing this game for many years now and I still get confused by the paladin, although he is one of my favourite characters).

every class has it's solid builds all just a personal preference. read some guides and see what you like.

Why is it on every forum there is someone who asks this question. Just play the game and find out which one you think is the best.

All classes are godly depending on the amount of skill the player has.

I could probably run through act 1 normal - act 5 hell with a druid using nothing but summons and a merc.

Just play man, just play...

Paladins doesn`t have Teleport when starting. You will have to run through the game by foot. I do agree that Hammers kill everything though. They are marvellous for all reasons.

When you get to lvl 18 with a sorc, you will get around a lot faster - and if you go for a Orb\ES build, you will have extended Mana and you will do fine for a start.

if ur patient go with a fishymancer
Hammerdian is out of the discussian if ur new
Blizz sorc if u dont mind missing monsters once in a while and blizz is perfect for meph
orb sorc is good for monsters=====Not real good with bosses
Es nova sorc if u dont like to die
light sorc are good for rushes
fire sorc's are for pvp and pvm so theyr'e out of th e qustion too.
as u can see it's all about what u wanna do so check some guides and think about what u want to do.

this is rumor control here are the facts.......
you play closed bnet, preferably solo, maybe 1 other character.

regardless what people say you dont have to have alot of patience to use a necromancer. A summoner/fishymancer is a good start for any new charcter. The build can be finished really early, is not really equipment reliant, but when you reach hell difficulty there are certain items which will speed the killing process along. They can pretty much operate "naked" for most things. IMO Its the easiest character to start with. I have soloed alot of characters, and the necro is one of the few that was able to breeze through the acts with little problem. In my signature i have a link to a guide I made, should you choose to look at it.

Another good build is the Chainlightning/Frozen Orb Sorceress, but its a long build to finish.

The one that has the highest damage/defense ratio is a hammerdin, but they are so damn expensive. You probably want to go either blizzard sorc or a dethwalker (look at necromancer forums and loki's guide). I almost killed a level 20 javazon at level 12 by merely standing on the edge of blood moor and letting my minions kill her. Of course, it also owns at killing any monster.

I know this is gonna seem like a stupid question but it must be asked. How do you transfer equipment you pick up on one character to another. My buddy and I tried it the other day in a private room and when i logged onto the character i was supposed to pick the gear up on the game lockedup and all my gear was gone. Was it just bad luck that the game locked up or is there a way of doing it without a 2nd person involved.

player pref. it all depends on what you want the char to do

i like the trap sassin. i made mine have lighting as main and the rest of the points into fire so i cought hit light res ppl and my merc and shadow make it so i never have to do anything lol.
